Where are the Best Pet Services in Portland, Oregon?
The indoor/outdoor facility is big and great. And they add a splash pool when it gets hot. Their gift store has unique items and their special event planning is clever and fun. Not so great part is in the care of the dogs. They are allowed to just pee anywhere on the floor which doesn’t seem the best plan. Many of the staff don’t seem very well-trained and turnover is frequent. They do some breed discriminating (kick out dogs instead of managing their interactions better) and they don’t always give the dogs needed breaks from the over-stimulating atmosphere.
The Howliday Inn is a truly wonderful doggy daycare!! The owners Pam and Daniel are AWESOME, friendly and caring. I searched around quite a bit before deciding in a heartbeat that the Howliday Inn was the place I felt comfortable taking my beloved dog. A bad experience at another doggy daycare landed my dog and two others at Dove Lewis (ingesting foreign material). The vet bill was $1,700 with no reparation from the doggy daycare. Obviously, I was VERY cautious about the next daycare. I visited some that were plain unclean or had cleaners/buckets with mops directly within the dogs’ reach. Some had wooden play structures that the dogs’ had obviously been chewing on…….not good. After doing the tour at Howliday I felt relieved!! My girl goes to daycare every week and she LOVES all of her friends there. She doesn’t even look back at me when they take her to the back….she can’t wait to go have FUN! Their overnight care is also EXCELLENT; I have left my dog there many times and entrust
