Where are the Best Margarita in Seattle, Washington?
sometimes a place just goes too far making people happy, and they get fat.ok, seriously. like it’s sister “matador west” in west seattle, this restaurant has something beautiful for everyone. i think the happy hour menu is genius, a huge selection of incredible little meals for just a few bucks a piece, and if you’re going to judge a bar on it’s tequila choices, you’re going to fall madly in love with the matador.this is one of those “mexican” food restaurants that specializes in american comfort food style mexican. authenticity is not the point here, pure food bliss is. unfortunately this is the destination for loud stupid kids on weekend nights, so if you have the choice head to matador west on weekends to get away from the amateurs.Pros + possibly the best happy hour in seattleCons – possibly the worst spot to try and enjoy a meal on friday night. (unless you like the zoo)
It had been a while since I had been to the Cactus Restuarant on Madison so reminded by the Rachel Ray Vacation show, we headed down on Sunday around 4pm. I remember how great the food used to be and still is. The butternut squash enchiladas are genius! The food is top notch. What it suffers from is what I find in a lot of Seattle restaurants; bad service and weak drinks. Our waiter would have been more at home guiding a Universal Studios tour bus. He kept repeating exactly the same routine in the same tour-bus style at every table but I’m not sure he listened to anything the customers said. The first thing he pushed was the guacamole. We said yes but he never brought it. He later said “Oh yeah, that was totally my fault”. Duh, it sure wasn’t mine. There was no attempt to make it better. Also, the tamales were being “pushed” as well because they were “made fresh daily”. does that mean the rest of the food is stale? The “Cactus” margarita was super weak, perhaps the bartender also “forg
First off, our server scolded us for seating ourselves on the patio after waiting to be seated for 7 minutes with no one helping us (no wait or line, just us standing in front of hostess stand being ignored by our eventual server while she gossiped in the bar.). Our waitress nearly made us leave. After that we gave her our drink order 3 different times and she still forgot it. We ordered beans for a starter with our chips and that took 10 minutes. We got about 7 bites before our food came. We split the Prawn Fajitas for $12.ish…. The prawns were flavorless and low quality tiny bay shrimp. The onions & peppers were over cooked in oil ad sloppy. The teaspoon side of guacamole lasted for 1 tortilla. O ya…… only 4 tortillas come with the order. (Tortillas were raw and cold.) Our meal was poor by every standard. The Mojitos were lackluster & weak. It seemed the hostess was doing the job of 4 people and was the only person running around. The view and patio seating was excell
The first time my fiance and I went to the Mexico Cantina we were anything but impressed. The food was over cooked the sauces were runny and the margaritas were just awful. But due to business meetings and friends get togethers weve had to make our way down there several times in the past 6 months. And to our astonishment the food has been fantastic. Its a complete 180 from the first time wed been there. The service was great the margaritas actually tasted like they should. The grilled provolone appetizer has become a favorite as is the carne asada.Im not sure if it was just a fluke that our first experience was terrible but ever since its just been a great place to go. Granted it isnt an authentic mexican restaurant. But at the same time I dont think people go into the Pacific Place looking for authenticity.I think this restaurant it definitely worth a try as are the margaritas..in fact they were voted to have the best margaritas in Seattle in 2006. So thats gotta mean theyre doing some
