Where are the Best Margarita in Salt Lake City, Utah?
Our friends took us to this restaurant over the weekend and I have never tasted anything so spectacular in my life. I was a long time Cafe Rio fan, but never again. The food was served fast, and hot! And was delicious. I had their chimichunga with burro sauce and lettuce and tomatoes on the side. The portion was enormous and I feel I got what I paid for and more. The service was friendly and the man and the register very funny! He even thanked us as we left (very sincerely) which I thought was wonderful and very personable. Such a nice relaxing place to eat. I didn’t feel rushed to eat, even though the place was full. I also didn’t feel overrun by other guests, the booth we sat in had a high back so I felt very intimate with my other guests. There were tv’s on, but they were not blaring sound, something I despise at restaurants. I am sad that a location isn’t in Utah County – PLEASE COME DOWN HERE SOON! Generally decent food and staff try to be attentive. Excellent salsa and chips. Food just seemed better in the past. No restaurant is always consistent, and this one doesn’t always make the grade. Perhaps they’re banking on their popularity instead of quality.Pros + Staff are polite, but quality isn’t consistent Cons – Parking can sometimes be tight, which is often a good sign of demand.
I have been to the Red Iguana twice now…still I’m not sold on the “killer mexican”, but I’m not going to say they are absolutely awful. They are constantly busy, so the wait can be a problem, however if you are up for a late dinner (say past 8:30pm) you dont have to wait at all. I was surprised at how friendly the staff was even when large groups showed up to eat even 10 minutes before they are supposed to close…Our waiter was nice, the chips and salsa were fresh, and the food was decent and their bathrooms are surprisingly clean. For the price, you really cannot complain. Their style mexican is more the classic take, and if you go there I suggest going for the moles or perhaps tacos…their enchiladas are okay, but not all they are cut out to be. I know some people complain about getting sick, but I think it’s more of the spice mixtures than a food-borne illness. They have great Ribs and the atmosphere is a up tempo fun place to eat. Service is very good never had my drinks get empty. Other foods I like here are the chicken dishes and the Fajitas. Portions are good sized not to large, Chilis is affordable for most people. They have a wide range of choices on the menu so there is something for everyone.Pros + To go service so if you cant stay you can call ahead and order or order to go if you cant wait for a seatCons – Busy on Friday and Saturday nights
I’ve been dining at Z’Tejas for sometime now because my office is pretty close. I was shocked to see some of the comments about the food being bland. I don’t know what these people ate but it not the food I eat there. let me give two great examples of food with a lot of flavor – Z’Tejas by far has the most flavorable chile relleno out there. i use to always order chile rellenos at Mexican restaurants, but not anymore because they can’t compare to the one at Z’Tejas. It has smoked chicken and a stuffing with apricots, cheese, raisins and some other stuff with a mole sauce over it. It is really good. Also, their NY strip steak is one of the best steaks in town and you don’t even come close to paying the price of Flemings. It has a gorgonzola butter on it and carmelized onions.
