We visited this wonderful restaurant during Sundance ’08, and were very impressed. We arrived a bit early for our reservation, but were promptly seated by the fire at our request. The ambience was lovely, with the fire, candles, and the perfect amount of lighting. Our waiter arrived, and quickly proved himself to be knowledgable in every respect. He guided us through the ordering process, including some great wine recommendations. The food was incredible. We ordered the Goat Cheese and Mozzarella Chile Relleno and ate every last bit of it. Next I had the pumpkin bisque, which was very welcome on a freezing January evening – it was velvety and delicious. I had the Avocado salad, and couldn’t have been happier with the fresh and beautiful flavor of the avocado offset by some kind of chile-vinaigrette, greens, and papaya. I ate here several times years ago and loved it – the food and atmosphere. So I took my husband back when we were in town this week. We were disappointed. The food was okay. The atmosphere and decor have gone downhill. It’s no longer a really nice restaurant, it’s just a place to eat. I must say, however, that the staff was very nice, the service excellent.

came here for lunch on my first day in slc. sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the nice weather. i think the day i went there was a staff shortage. several people came by to tell us that the server was coming and eventually the cook came to wait on us. he was friendly, but seemed nervous since he doesn’t normally wait on tables. the nacho and salsa was good, both mild and spicy. the guacamole, that we requested xtra spicy, came out with a whole jalapeno not chopped up and it was not spicy at all. that was kinda disappointing. got the 2 taco combo to share and it was plenty food for two. the watermelon margaritas we ordered were ok but not great. overall, this was an ok choice, but it lacks the usual festive mexican atmosphere and is pricey in comparison to most other mexican restaurants.Pros + outdoor seatingCons – $$ for mexican, lacks festivity
