Where are the Best Margarita in Sacramento, California?
The bar is small but tastefully designed. There are two bars one in the front and one in the back where people smoke. The back bar is closed off but some smoke does come through the door if you stand right next to them. There is a great local crew of people that are very friendly. The bartenders are hot and drinks are strong. Cool place to visit to hang out and meet people. There is no dance floor but the music is good. The have many tvs to veiw the music videos and they play short snips of shows like QAF or Family guy in between the music. Looks a lot like Midnight Sun in San Francisco but the people here actually have a pulse. 🙂 Good place to come to when you go to Sac-town.Pros + Smoking room, Drinks, BoysCons – Small space, no dance floor
We have been going to Garcia’s since it opened. The food was always fresh, presented nicely and the staff was courteous and helpful. The past year the food has lost it’s freshness, food put together sloppy and sometimes tortillas over-cooked. The service also is no longer acceptable as the food is brought cold, over-cooked or missing what comes with the meal ie: sour cream, salsa.Usually there isn’t a wait if you go early enough, after that plan on reading a novel. Servers don’t return to fill glasses or check if anything is needed. Tortilla chips are greasy and/or over-cooked and salsa is a lot watery than it use to be. This is one of our “fall back” eateries. My husband is addicted to the enchilada oxacenos; they are fabulous. Tender chicken in a black mole sauce with plaintain, a specialty. They use the doyenne of Mexican cooking for recipes: Dianna Kennedy and they do them well. I always find their salad dressings too acidic and the Caesar is soggy. I many times order from the appetizer menu. They have remodeled, no more motorcycles, new, more comfortable chairs. The last few times we have gone, it has not been as crowded as it used to be. Patrick still works there, he’s the best waiter in Northern California. Other wait staff can be dumb as toast. When they miss, they REALLY miss. You can sit for 35 minutes without water. Reasonable prices, good quality ingredients, careful chefs. The music can be fine or awful, I think the bartender gets to decide. I’ve eaten there before and the food isn’t memorable. The margaritas aren’t bad. But the service is just down right terrible.Last time I was there it was weds. night. Karaoke night for them which is a busy night for sure and they only had one bartender and a bar back. Granted the fact that they aloud the bar back to pour beer. The bartender certainly wasn’t fast enough to balance it out. I waited 30 minutes for my next round of drinks. In fact I ordered extra so I wouldn’t have to come back. She wasn’t paying attention to who was at the bar so alot of people were being skipped as she just ene minee miny moed it. She didn’t greet any one or tell any of us that she’d be right with us. Once she finally took my order, she ended up forgeting and continued to serve 3 other people before me. Then once she finaly got back to me. She didn’t even apologise. I’m laughing while I’m writing this because I’m so amazed at this. I’ve been managing resturaunts for several years along with bartending
