A very interesting spot. Latin Fusion food with a high price tag but enough novelty to make it worth the trip. The labster guacamole is surprisingly good but Id expect something more out of the accompanying tortilla chips for 19. Hamachi ceviche was also quite good but prepared in a way that resembled carpaccio and not the peasant food chunked-fish style you find in South America. Empanada was small but delectable with noticably high quality ingredients. Service was courteous but unexperienced. Had a wine order mix-up but nothing that would keep me from coming back. Worth the trip for sure just dont remind yourself you are eating spruced up mexican and the sticker shock wont be too bad.

WOw, there are some angry people leaving comments! I’m kind of surprised about all of the bad experiences. Here’s the honest story. It’s a college-type bar in a sense, loud, crowded. There is usually a mix of young kids who just turned 21 (if that!) and some very odd older people…THe service can be unreliable. But, the bartenders have always been super friendly and very cool. I think the food is delicious! I am even a bit of a foodie. But the enchilladas are great, and i look forward to having the nachos and chicken fingers at the bar, watching one of the many TV’s, whenever I can. Best nachos I’ve ever had. Good drink specials, just a great spot to have a drink, some delicous food, and not take things so seriously!Pros + Best nachos in ny, all the food is great, very cool bartenders, chill placeCons – crowded, loud, not enough bar stools

This is far from being “the best mexican restaurant in the city” like other reviewers mention. The drinks are made from the very simple Margarita Mix that you can buy from the supermarket. The guacamole made in front of your table tasted good, but that’s about all that tasted decent out of the four dinner choices each of us ordered. Tortilla Soup that I ordered tasted worse than the soup i had in the All-Inclusive Resort in Cancun. The decor is nice, but don’t waste your time and money on this restaurant….go to a low-key places in downtown, or better yet, try “Santa Fe Grill” in Park Slope – the best Margaritas and the best Mexican food.
