Where are the Best Margarita in New York, New York?
After reading prior reviews I felt the need to review Mexican Radio myself. My friends and I have been going here for years and never have we been disappointed. We continue to bring new people to the restaurant and like wise no one is disappointed. Like any other restaurants there are going to be some negative points them being: You usually have a wait to be seated even with a reservation. Paying for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant is ridiculous its almost like having to pay for bread and butter at an Italian restaurant. And finally the guacamole is not much to be desired. The food over all is the best Mexican I have had in the city, I typically eat the chimichanga or Plantain Rellenos both are to die for. The margaritas are made to perfection. Many people have complained that its over priced I more then disagree, review their menu the most expensive thing is shrimp fajitas at $19. Compare this to a chain restaurant like Apple Bees which offers Fajitas for $16 now woul
As Mexican food lovers we were interested to see if Tio Pepe lived up to its reputation. We were not disappointed! We waited about 5mins to be seated and were given a nice table by the window. The restaurant itself is buzzing.. not in a bad way but in a bustling, alive kind of way. Our waiters were great! they were polite, funny and attentive without being in our faces. The food was great! The Guacamole, made table side, was spectacular. Beware it is a little expensive $12 for guac and chips BUT it is totally worth it!! Our mains were nice.. maybe not quite as amazing as the guac but still delicious. I had the Chicken Chimichanga which was delicious.. the ‘pastry’ was really light and wasn’t dripping in oil like at other places.. My Fiance had a Paella which although was very nice it wasn’t as good as the Mexican fare.. The only thing that stopped me from giving Tio Pepe a 5 star rating was the awful bathrooms! The women’s bathroom was gross! It really needed a good clean and general r
This is a great t little restaurant in an even better part of town. I used to live in this neighborhood, and I can’t believe I’ve never gone here. I think it was mostly because there was always a line, and no one wants to wait in line on their own street.Anyway, best fish tacos I’ve had in NYC so far. They’ve got some pretty creative dishes, and the drinks at the bar are a lot of fun. Most importantly the managers there were super cool with getting us seats, despite all the people waiting and all the reservations. Bartender (Mesh?) also knew all about the food, and made some great recommendations. The restaurant itself is a bit cramped, though there is a big back room. The decor is cool, and it works as a date spot, if you’re comfortable with some solid background noise. Tequila will do that.Pros + Fun interesting food, creative drinks, good managementCons – Creative drinks (some can be a bit too different, but thats good sometimes!), small space
