Where are the Best Margarita in Kansas City, Missouri?
I’ve been to several of the El Maguey restaurants and they always have good service and good food. I judge a restaurant by who eats there. If it’s a mexican restaurant and lots of mexicans eat there, it should be pretty good mexican food. I like the chimichanga, it’s always done just right. The beans taste good and the rice is always cooked just right. Their prices are good and the service is fast even when busy.
Margarita’s is definitely NOT authentic Mexican food. They are tex-mex food. However, they are the best tex-mex food I have eaten in KCMO or KCK. They have the best tacos I have ever tasted. If you want real Mexican food, you will have to venture down to 7th and Kansas Ave and eat at the Taconazo. As far as service: I have to admit, slow and rudish…but it’s still worth the food for me. The food comes quickly, but don’t look for waiter staff after your food arrives – because they will nowhere in sight. As far as smoking: I am an ex-smoker. There are two sections – which are separated by an entire wall – a smoking section (the bar side) and the non-smoking section. (I am talking about the SW BLVD location.) If you don’t like smoke, don’t sit on the bar side. On a different note – I think it’s ridiculous that smoking is being banned in places where there is a bar. Bars are generally where people go to drink AND smoke. If you don’t want to smell smoke – eat in johnson count
