Where are the Best Margarita in Houston, Texas?
I had been hearing about this place for years and finally got chance to try it out for lunch yesterday..The Queso is just average, but it was better after adding some of their salsa into it.The real hook for me was when I opened the menu and found a combo plate that I did not have to modify to get what I want! (Chalupa,Beef Taco,2 Cheese Enchiladas with onions, rice & beans) The Enchilada sauce was fantatic, the Taco Meat had real flavor, and they cooked the Enchilada with the onions on them (the way it should be), and I would swear my long deceased Abuela was in the kitchen making the refried beans! This place is going to be my new spot whenever I am in the area!Pros + Combo Platters,Fresh Salsa, Refried BeansCons – Parking lot looks like they have been testing missles
I am a Rice University Professor. Recently I held a meeting on the Ricecampus consisting of about 25 people from all over the country and a goodrepresentation from Southern California. We went to Pico’s in a small busfor dinner. You served us Parilla Mixta family style. The food, was excellentand fairly priced. The service was excellent and there was a a goodatmosphere. I found it interesting that the California visitors who are soproud of their California Mexican food, stated that they were trulysurprised that they had to come to Houston for the best Mexican food theyhad ever had. Thank you for adding to the success of my conference.Last month Pico’s catered a gathering of family and friends at my housewhere we were celebrating my wife’s and my Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. We had about 120 people present from all over the country and some fromother countries. You food was the highlight of the day. It was excellent.Yourdelivered the food and took care of every detail. W
If you are looking for tex-mex and want tex-mex prices, don’t go to Hugo’s. However, if you are looking for excellent service, flavorful regional Mexican dishes, and a superb dining experience, Hugo’s just might fit the bill. The setting is elegant, a large brick building covered in ivy, with looming floor to ceiling windows, and old-world cast iron chandeliers and wrought iron accent throughout. The first time I came here, the space almost felt medieval, but now I find the decor is part of the charm. Our latest dining experience could be classified as excellent from start to finish. We had mojitos and sangria ($5 during happy hour) at the bar, and ordered a green ceviche. The mojitos were excellent, the sangria fresh and fruity, and the green ceviche was tasty and tangy, just the right starter for the evening. Our bartender was attentive and provided great service even though there wasn’t a single empty seat at the bar. An auspicious start to what turned out to be a wonderful culi
