Where are the Best Margarita in Boston, Massachusetts?
Zebra’s is a great place to go for either a romantic night out or to celebrate with friends or family. There is a nice lounge area with comfy chairs and attentive cocktail waitresses at you walk in, and I often show up an hour or so before I plan to eat to just ahng out and have a drink with my friends. The dining area is small, but very comfy and the art on the walls creates a fun, eclectic but classy ambiance. The service has always been outstanding, and I believe many of the staff have worked there for quite a while (in fact, I have had the same server ot my table each of the last 2-3 times my family has eaten there during the Christmas season). The food is prepared superbly (medium actually has some pink still showing, medium-rare is not charred, etc) and I have always enjoyed the variety of ingredients found in their various dishes. Additionally, there is a sushi bar available, but I have not tried it to-date. Overall, this is a great restaurant, in the mold of those in Bo
Ah, Border Cafe. I love that somehow, though I’m sure you are always swamped in the kitchen, that your proteins are always cooked perfectly – my food always arrives piping hot at the table, any the chicken always had a great sear on the outside, but is perfectly juicy on the inside. Next, don’t even get me started on the condiments/sauces! My favorites are the mango salsa – perfectly sweet mango cubes with just the right spicy/citrus-y bite to them, the perfectly sweet-spicy-garlicky chipotle lime glaze for the plantains, and the Cajun spiced marmalade, just to name a few. The tortilla chips here are not just a starter, they are a way of life – freshly fried throughout the day, they pair exceptionally well with the guacamole, which I would personally prefer a bit more on the chunky side, but that’s just me. As far as downsides – there are not a lot of exciting vegetarian options here. Most of the choices are heavy on cheese and light on creativity. I also almost always get not-the-best
You have to get the nachos. But expect to share with the group and still feel as full as you can fathom. They’ve also got the best beer selection for miles, as well as some top-notch ciders. I’ve had the burgers and they’re not my favorite, but they’re still pretty good. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The only downfall is that it’s always crowded with BU dudes acting stupid. Maybe they’re not acting. Still, the food and beer is fantastic if you have the good fortune of being seated far enough from the men’s lacrosse team.Pros + Apps, beer, cider, serviceCons – yeah dudes, parking in allston
Classic Italian cuisine is made hip at this centrally located Back Bay trattoria. The large, bustling dining room is especially good for groups, while the mosaic-tiled and dimly-lit enoteca or the stylish bar offer intimacy. (The outdoor patio is a lush oasis come summer.) The kitchen’s emphasis is on fresh ingredients, resulting in a daily menu of traditional dishes. Over a dozen chic starters (like crunchy eggplant with spicy tomato sauce, oregano and parmigiano) kick off the dining options. Housemade pastas are constructed from the freshest ingredients; entrees are rich without being heavy. Desserts, including an immaculate vanilla panna cotta, are irresistible.Photo courtesy of Via Matta
I love the Cactus Club. I’ve had my fair share of happy hour get togethers here, and keep coming back.First off, just go order the Horni Margarita. It’s my drink of choice at Cactus. If you sit in the bar area, grab some half price appetizers Monday-Thursday from 4-7pm. I love the empanadas personally. The one time I sat in the dining room, the service was awful. Our waitress abandoned us multiple times (while waiting to order, while waiting for the bill, and while waiting for her to come pick up the bill so we could leave), and each time came back and said that she just forgot about us. One time she let us know she had gone out back for a cigarette. Great. After that, I haven’t sat in the dining room again. Instead I opt for the bar area. Grab a high top, a margarita, and enjoy the fast service and good food and drinks!Pros + selection of margaritas, delicious chips and salsaCons – rare to find parking, dining room service can be slow
