Where are the Best Hair Extensions in Portland, Oregon?
I am from France, I have lived in Portland for 8 years and before finding this place, I have never found a Salon where stylists actually knew what they were doing. Yes that includes Aveda where I spent 3 hours in a chair getting told to make sure to remind her how thick my hair was for the next cut..which cost me $70…suffice to say there was no next cut and no tip either.DO is the BEST place in my opinion. I have had Kris cut my hair once, she took me the same day, without appointment (I was about to cut my own hair) and she gave me a very cute shorter, manageable hair cut corresponding exactly to my style, my facial features and for less $35.Amber Garrett is my regular stylist now. She is very friendly, very experienced and I am always 100% satisfied when I come out of her chair! She listens to me and she helps me pick a style corresponding to my hair type and facial feature.Their products are great, the cuts are what I want, the music they play is awesome and all that under $
I’ve been a client of Christy for over 6 years. I followed her to two new locations and love the NW site. I have always been treated like a special customer by Christy. I appreciate the reminder phone calls. Christy and Taylor’s business partnership has brought great synergy to the salon. I have had a number of people ask where I get my hair cut and colored and have referred several people to Christy. I trust Christy with my color and recently made a radical shift from blonde highlights to dark red. When my roots were lighter due to my hair being white now Christy came up with a solution that blended the roots in with the color much better. I enjoy coming to the salon and am happy that Christy and Taylor have found such a great spot.Pros + beautiful calming atmosphere, free parking, Cons – None
This past Autumn, many of Portland’s Yuko clients were frantic to learn that Ziva’s very own Kristoffer, super best Yuko dude in Portland, was departing Ziva for the East coast. Over the past 2 months, as I kept staring at my 4 inches of emerging silver frizz, I wrung my hands, read tons of on-line reviews about other Yuko trained stylists in Portland but remained paralized by intertia and fear of a ‘blind date’ with an unknown, chemical welding stylist. My fear of the unknown included the new Yuko stylist at Ziva as well. But, at least I knew that she had enjoyed the opportunity of working with Kristoffer prior to his departure. So, I called Joe Snell, owner and manager, and explained my fears;…broken hair, burned head and escalated cost due to less experienced technician working slower (Kris was VERY quick and productive). I cant say enough wonderful things about Nickol…. Im so impressed with her work on my hair. Nickol has been my stylist for years and I cant imagine having anyone but her color or cut my hair. She is a genius when it comes to color! She talks with you on what you are wanting done and really cares about the health of your hair which Ive never encountered before. Im used to paying someone to do what I ask and never received any input, even if what Im asking for will damage my hair, which I may not be aware of. Nickol wants the best for your hair and gives tips on keeping your hair beautiful. Im always completely satisfied with the results. After one such appointment, Nickol described to me the thermal straightening process after I complained one rainy day how my hair just seems a mess for so many months during the year since portland is so rainy.
