Where are the Best Hair Extensions in Charlotte, North Carolina?
I had been spoiled when I moved here from Washington DC. My best friend there is a top stylist that is booked months in advance with all the “Who’s Who” of the DC metro area. So for the first few years I would fly back on E-savers for her to do my hair, but that became too inconvenient. I started searching and after TONS of trial and error, I finally found Jason at Varji. Both the south park location and the Morehead street location are nice. Jason mainly works at Morehead which works best for my Elizabeth location. However I have zero hesitation to travel to South Park when he is there. He takes the time to listen and his cut is fantastic. After my second visit he had my color down perfectly (he had to fix a mess I brought him the first visit). He really funny and kind, and makes you feel right at home. I have had several strangers stop me and ask me about my cut since I started seeing him in November. After my very first visit, my mother took one look at the results and bo
Those in need of a luxury before the holidays to “de-stress” from the frantic holiday shopping must pay a visit to Synergy Salon. I work a busy job in an intense environment and book my appointments generally after work and because Synergy stays open pretty late, it helps especially when I need more leeway on time.I haven’t been so happy with a place since arriving here! My son and daughter actually like coming along and as a single mother, its great! The receptionist makes sure that they stay entertained while the stylist stays focused on me. I’ve already booked my next appointment 😉
Prior to going to Shine, I got my hair cut at a number of small, non-appointment hair salon chains. About a year ago I randomly called Shine and asked for an appointment because of its close proximity to my house and good feedback I heard from others. I got an appointment with Mark Gordon and I’ve been going there to see Mark every 2 weeks since then. Mark is very friendly and does a great job of styling my hair. The staff at the salon makes you feel like you are part of their family – part of the reason why I keep going back. The services and products offered by Shine are a good value for their price. Undoubtedly, I would recommend Mark at Shine to anyone who is looking for a great salon to go to on a regular basis.Pros + Coffee, Soda, and Wine offered to customesr, friendly staff, great location in the heart of Plaza Midwood
I am new to Charlotte and tried this salon twice so far. Once for color – loved it. And another for a cut – loved that too! I received comments on my hair immediately afterwards by strangers on the street. I must agree, however, about the front desk. The first time I walked in, I almost walked right back out. The front desk was scowling and unfriendly and I really got this snobbish feeling from them. They barely spoke, really didn’t smile, and I don’t believe they even said thank you. The owner or manager (not sure which one he was) was very pleasant and friendly though. The front desk kind of ruins the whole pleasant, spa-like experience. They are the first ones and the last ones you see so it kind of strips away the great experience of the scalp massage, beauty treatment, hair style once you have to go past the front desk.Yeah, they try to push products on you, but so does everyone – even the people in the mall kiosks or the service staff in restaurants. Everyone has s
I was at Modern for several services. My pedicure was fabulous!! It was long-lasting, neat, and my feet never looked better!! However my manicure, done by another woman, left a lot to be desired. I had white tips, which where crooked and uneven, and she left nail polish on my fingertips and around my cuticles. Also, my cuticles looked ragged and messy from where she nipped them. My haircut was a good one (technically) and my stylist could explain why she made the cuts she did, but it wasn’t what I asked for. (I’ve learned from my other stylist how to explain my cut properly, using beauty school terms.) I won’t be back for another cut, that’s for sure. I recommend massages and body treatments, maybe a manicure/pedicure, or a makeup lesson. If you’re set in your style and not open to “interpretation” I don’t recommend a haircut.Pros + Friendly, AtmosphereCons – Inconsistent
