Where are the Best French Fries in Seattle, Washington?
I recently referred my best friend to eat here, she checked out the review marked “an experiement” . I am a proud black woman, who has eaten at this cafe many times, and lived in MP almost my entire life, and the last thing I would call this cafe or the employees there is discriminating. I think what we have is a man living his life as a black man, instead of just a man, accusing everyone around him as discriminating against him, which makes me sad because it makes us all look that way. I will tell you that the food at the cafe is good, they have their up and downs with consistancy, the baked eggs are never the same, egg dishes never the same size, but ive never had a bad experience there with food (either brunch or dinner). The staff is a whole other story. Thee was recently a change in staff and some of the long time servers are no longer there, which is a huge shame because they were excellent and I miss sitting in their sections. There are 2 new men working there and I have sat in
My wife and read about El Greco in Seattle Magazine and we’ve been making a point to try all the top-rated breakfast spots. I ordered the garlic sausage frittata and my wife ordered the french toast of the day (a specialty at El Greco). My frittata was made with egg whites (because I am allergic to egg yolks) and I was happy that I didn’t have to order it with Egg Beaters. My fritatta, while not traditional, was great. It was coated in a light cheese (can’t remember the type but it wasn’t the typical Jack or Cheddar) and it had slices of this garlic-chicken sausage that is probably a local product (maybe Isernio’s?). The toast was made from an Italian rustic bread (I think) and it too was awesome. My wife had the french toast which was served with a blueberry compote(?) and creme’ fresh butter, unbelievable! Definitely the best french toast I’ve ever had, possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever had and I eat out A LOT. The french toast was slightly crispy on the edges with just the pef
I don’t think I would have ever know Elysian Fields existed if it weren’t for a friend who wanted to eat lunch there a few years back. It’s in a building that looks a tad run down, about a half block from Qwest Field. I wasn’t sure what to expect when walking in, and must say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a huge area with large booths/tables around the bar area with TVs at almost every angle, seating behind the bar where you can people watch out of the floor to ceiling windows and a some-what private area that has bench seating around the room with tables and TVs in every corner. The food is pretty good. Above par for regular brewpub fare and prices are typical for a brewery, comparable to The Ram.However, I must say they have two secrets that I am going to share with you right now. The first is that it’s the best place to grab a seat to watch any game. Since the location isn’t heavily traveled during the weekend you can usually find a seat and enjoy watching with your friends.
