In a city overflowing with a wide range of culinary choices, Hot Doug’s is the one place I make an effort to visit every time I’m in the Windy City. What can I say that hasn’t already been said? It’s…

Not your average hot dog joint. The place is clean, the service is great, the line always goes quickly & they get the order right everytime. The food tastes great and the quality is consistent. If you want a great hot dog or gyro fast, this is your place. Pros + Great Food, great service

The Chicago classic hot dog is the standard for the world. Jimmy’s is the creator of the best. Of course, he bans ketshup. Ketshup on a Chicago Dog is like salsa on ice cream. If you insist, the guys at Jimmy’s will begrugingly give you packets of the red stuff…and tell you to refrain from putting it on the dog until you leave the premises. I have been a Jimmy dog guy since the opened some 50 years ago. If yoiu come to Chicago and skip Jimmy’s, you have missed a lot. But, don’ expect some fancy tourist place. This is the legit thing — no Disney re-creation. As far as the neighborhood, it is fine. Maybe small town or small minded folks have never seen big city blue-collar neighborhood. Mostly a bunch of friendly Hispanic folks. It s great. So fear not.

Lived in the area over a year before I tried this place, boy was I missing out. The amtosphere is warm and cozy, staff is friendly, not pushy, or fake. Menu I found to be small, but they make up for it with the Beer list. If you go and Pumpkin soup is the special, try it, my taste buds are glad I did.Pros + Beer ListCons – Limited Seating

I remember courting her in spring, and sitting with her on what of the outdoor benches, relishing our chilli cheese dogs and the bright, warm sunny weather. But there was a darkness beneath the facade of normalcy and contentment. At that moment at Parky’s, she pulled out David Ratkoff’s book Fraud, and i new she identified with every word in his troubling yet insightful distillation of self-loathing and alienation in America. I was not aware at that point that she had developed a huge habit, one that led her into marginalized communities of drunkards, prostitutes, g**g foot soldiers, an
