Overall, a great place to go. Expect to spend 200-250 for two people at least if you are drinking 2 or more drinks a piece or wine. But large martinis, great, informative waiters and beautiful decor make this place a must visit. I have been to the Vegas/Palms Nine and I think the Chicago version is better. We asked for local club and bar venues (Ghost bar is right upstairs also) and the bartender came back with a list and detailed what to expect at each place and their closing times. Great job by him. Both our meals were very good, but they slighltly overcooked our ordered rare lamb chops. Not a big deal as there were still good. My bone-in Filet option was a staggering 68 bucks. Good, but on a return visit I would choose the standard filet or one of the cheaper steak versions and use the extra money on an appetizer or more drinks. The caesar salad very well could have been the best I have ever had (no anchovies per request). Some small flaws but worth the visit in Chicago’

Samuel McChord Crothers once said “Try as hard as we may for perfection, the net result of our labors is an amazing variety of imperfectness. We are surprised at our own versatility in being able to fail in so many different ways.”This quote does not apply to the Wiener and Still Champion of Evanston, America.Gus, the owner of the Wiener has displayed exceptional customer service while serving the best quality food I have tasted for the cheapest prices I have seen. My hobbies include literature, economics, polo, and maxing out on Gus’ amazing burgers, perfect cheese fries, and absolutely the greatest corn dogs known to man.I have eaten at this restaurant on numerous occasions and never have I been disappointed by the quality of the food, the service, or anything else involved with the “Wiener”. The food there is like a symphony of pleasure taking place on my taste buds. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving perfect food fast. I also think it should become an E

The hamburgers at Cross-Rhodes are the best. They are not huge or terribly fancy, just really good basic fresh ground, hand-formed, charbroiled burgers. I like my burgers rare, and this is one of only a few places I trust enough to do them right. The quality of the beef at Cross-Rhodes is exceptional, and they have the art of burger making down to a science. The rare ones come charred on the outside and deep red on the inside, cooked just enough so they aren’t dripping blood. Perfect. I like mine with feta cheese and a glass of Retsina (Greek wine). Even the tomato, onion and dill pickle are good. The only complaint I have is that the mustard is yellow and boring. And don’t pass on the greek fries, they are big, crisp wedges drizzled with a lemon-oregano dressing. mmmmm.

As a former employee, I have to agree that this is the BEST hamburger out there. (I gained 20 pounds working there the first year because the food was so good.) My family would beg me to bring food home from work. After their first bite, they were hooked. Burger King was no longer good enough for them. The line that reaches out the door just to get a table says the same thing. The restaurant itself isn’t pretty, but the food more than makes up for it. Generous sized portions are given with each meal, and the soup and fries are homemade daily. The meat for the burgers is ground each day as well. No frozen burger patties here!Pros + food quality, portion size, cleanlinessCons – parking
