First Fila copied Prada. Then everybody rapping had to be named ?Young? this or ?Lil? that. Now even fast-food spots (um hmm, Arby?s) are hopping on the imitation bandwagon and trying to steal Houston?s vaunted sandwich: the French Dip Au Jus! Stop it, please! Okay sorry. I had to get that out of the way. But the French Dip Au Jus isn?t the only thing worth attempting to duplicate at Houston?s Restaurant. Their Hawaiian prime-rib steak is sure to satisfy the most cynical food critic, while the quality of food (i.e freshness, hot food, sanitary plates, and silverware) and overall ambiance is off the chart! Gents, it?s not a formal occasion but at the same time you can?t wear your baseball caps or look like you?re MTV on wheels! While Houston?s isn?t designed for the most opulent patron, it isn?t necessarily for the fast-food budget crowd as well. But with acute attention from your waiter/waitress coupled with a dimly lit eating area, Houston?s is a perfect marri

I’d have to say this is probably my favorite bar in the Highlands. The food is really good for a bar (try the specials!) and there are always people in here even on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the middle of summer. On the weekend nights, it can get pretty packed in here…fairly diverse crowd. Bartenders are good as well. I believe there is a nonsmoking section next door in the restaurant area.Pros + good bar menu, diverse crowdCons – none

Feeling very reminiscent of the small, yet ideal clubs of Nashville – where even the smallest room has a wonderful sound system – Eddie’s Attic is truly about the song. With open-mic nights during the weekdays, the weekends pull in great songwriters from Atlanta, or those touring through. Pooling money with your friends to buy a table is the way to guarantee a seat and great table service, though there is a bit of bar seating if you get there early. The friendly door worker will remind you to silence your phone, and this is a place where you will feel truly sheepish if you deviate from the rules. Its small, intimate, and clean – perfect to see the next big star.Pros + Excellent sound system/respectful concert-goersCons – Standing room only for the bigger shows

We’ve been here before, and didn’t really care for a bunch of appetizers we’d ordered the first time (risotto baIIs is the only one I can remember). The burger was good I think though.Last weekend, our second trip, we ordered mussels as an app, and they were delicious. How can little succulent morsels of seafood floating in a garlic cream sauce with buttery garlic bread to sop it all up not be good? I’m sure it’s possible, but not here.Next we had a steak salad and the prime rib (queen cut). I was expecting a little tiny cut, but this thing was huge. And awesome. And it was the perfect done-ness (med rare). The salad wasn’t anything special, but wasn’t bad either. The steak on it was a little tough, but cooked perfectly. I ordered a cosmo, which was $12. They bring it out in two parts: the martini glass filled with cosmoliciousness, and a brandy sniffer type glass filled with ice and another small bottle filled with more martini (so you can refill later). I think
