Where are the Best French Fries in Atlanta, Georgia?
I read about this place in a bunch of online blog reviews, and decided to venture to the Sweet Auburn Curb Market to take a look for myself. Grindhouse is inside of the market, which makes for a very interesting experience. Within a few feet of the burger bar are a variety of meat, produce and fish vendors. There’s free parking in a lot behind the market – I didn’t realize this, but if you bring your ticket in Grindhouse will put a sticker on it and validate it. Now to the burgers – they’re simply amazing. The basics of it – the bun and the meat – are as good as I’ve had anywhere in town. And you can customize it any way you want to. I’m from the west coast, so I had to try the Apache style, which has roasted new mexico green chiles, grilled onions and cheese. This can be found in a lot of places out west, but I haven’t seen it anywhere on the east coast. It might be my new favorite burger in ATL! Also the onion rings are perfect – they’re not battered, they’re just kind of
My husband and I enjoyed our meal overall. His duck was a little on the greasy side. Our first time eating escargot was a great experience. The space was a little tight and we were seated by the kitchen area, which was a little noisy. Atmosphere also had a pretty good wine selection.Pros + EscargotCons – Seating
This restaurant was recommended to me by the late Honorable Mayor Maynard Jackson himself, may he rest in peace. We saw Mayor Jackson, who was a big jolly eater, in the parking lot. My friend was going on about what a great mayor he was, I said, “well I just wanna know what you had for lunch!” He laughed and said, “oh try the falafels, they’re the best in town.” From then on this became one of my favorite places for wraps, chicken wings, and of course falafel, and the carrot cake which is a well kept secret. Apparently there is a new owner and you can tell the difference. My falafels were really dry and crunchy and when my waitress asked to have them done over a loud argument ensued in the kitchen about how they were just like they’re supposed to be. I went to tell them to forget it because I don’t like people arguing over my food, and much to my surprise the owner was one of the people arguing that they were fine and that’s how they’re supposed to be. My waitress had to stick up for
Although you don’t get to say in how your meat is cooked, the burgers here are better than at most places. They’re juicy, you have lots of toppings to choose from and the hand-cut cajun fries are incredibly flavorful. It’s a good value, too. We can get two double bacon cheeseburgers, an order of fries and two drinks for under $18! We just started going to the new Roswell Road location because it’s closer, but like the Lindbergh City Center location the best — it’s bigger, better ventilated and there are fewer kids. We have nothing against kids, but the parents at the Roswell Road location just don’t care what their kids do. It’s like Lord Of The Flies some nights!Pros + Awesome burgers and fries at an affordable price.Cons – The dining room is rather spartan, but that doesn’t really bother me.
