This is one of our favorite belltown happy hour locations. The sushi is fresh and tasty – the rolls are unique and delicious! They have a huge variety of offerings on their happy hour menu, from sushi sets to sashimi to creative rolls. This little back bar to the popular Thaiku is perfect if you want to get out of the crowd with someone interesting to talk with. If you can find the back door the this bar you might impress a friend, and the little red room of the back is a rare Seattle treat. The drinks are not bad, the food is good but the best part of this bar is the small tucked away seating.
I had heard for years that Wasabi was good. I finally went for dinner and was impressed with the extensive menu. Our large group ordered a bunch of rolls. There were so many to choose from and when six of them came out, they were visually stunning. I liked them alright— there’s too much going on w/ tempura, sauce, the fish wrapped around the outside…they all seemed like versions of the same roll. Maybe we didn’t choose well…dunno but next time I’ll stick w/ the nigiri because the fish is really fresh and tasty and they don’t skimp on portions like some places. I think I’m more of a purist when it comes to sushi but it’s great for groups and there’s something for everyone.Pros + Fresh seafood
I usually drop by once a month, usually to order a particular drink. Kevin, the bartender, has always made an effort to remember my name, make conversation, and ensure I actually like the drink. The attention is appreciated, and is more than you can find at most places in Seattle.Service can be slow at times, and food is decent but nothing great, but I don’t really understand who someone would want to go to a drink lounge for food anyway.Pros + Good drinks, nice bartendersCons – Older crowd, not always the most fun
