Where are the Best Exotic Drinks in San Francisco, California?
I’ve been here several ocassions with the co-workers for Happy Hour and a few times with friends. The nachos are YUMMMMY! All the different flavors of sake for $3! Oh.. try the Sangria too! I tend to like my drinks strong and love to have it my way. The bartenders don’t get offended if you tell them to add a little more of __ whatever you want in there, of course don’t be out of line. The pizzas are also half off during happy hour. I’m not a pizza lover, but I’ll have a pesto or mushroom. There are many choices. Just check it out, if you like it, you can go back as I do, if not, move onto other Happy Hour joints with Half off appetizers, and $3 sake. I won’t be hurt, I’ll just be beating my friends in pool in the back. =)Pros + Yummy drinks, appetizers, NACHOSCons – nada
Definitely a cutesy place. Dark room with tiki huts and a tiny little pool. We went for happy hour which was not much of a savings. The drinks, while pretty loaded, were average at best. Also the “buffet” that they offer is minimal and not worth the price. The happy hour buffet with the 1 drink minimum cost us $16 plus tip. So if you’re interested in a single drink, potstickers and a veggie tray, this place may work great for you.
I have been to Trader Sams during the before lunch crowd, the after work crowd, and the “we are out for the night crowd” that is the only three times I have been there… the first two times were nice and quiet ( a little too quiet if your looking for action) but if your looking for a nice mellow drink after work, or a cocktail before walking down to the Hard Knox Cafe a block down the street, it is a nice place to sit and rest after a bus ride on the 38 limited from the noise of the downtown city area. One Saturday night we walked back from the Pacific Cafe, around 8 or 9 at night.. I don’t know how we got so lucky, but we got the only two seats at the bar just as we walked in! It was a surprise to see how many bartenders, customers, exotic drinks, and lively people were there. probably would have just walked across the street and got back on the bus to downtown if those two seats were not right there waiting for us,, and we were really glad we stayed… fun to watch! and a safe trip
The place is small, dim and it can get crowded but it is can be fun. They play some pretty good tunes (I think there are different themes on different nights). Drinks are rpetty good, and prices are pretty average. The location is really good too, if you don’t like it here, or if you get tired and are ready for a change of scene there are plenty of other bars literally a few steps away. But be ware of Broadway street. Boy are there some characters walking it, and do NOT walk it alone at night if you are a girl. You won’t get hurt (it’s safe), but you might get man handled!
as a new resident of san francisco (i just moved here from los angeles), I found hope in finding a great dive bar to compare to my favorite LA bar, Beauty Bar. This one’s alright on weekdays, music is great, but good luck even getting to the dance floor on a weekend night. It’s so small and really is nothing like Beauty Bar LA. Except for the glitter painted walls and manicures, of course. If you are a frequent visitor of BB LA, you’ll be disappointed. BB SF is so much smaller, and lacks the charisma that it’s cousin in Hollywood portrays. AND the worst part is, there is no smoking room, which was my favorite part of BB LA. Oh well, I’ll continue to go, but you’ll never see me there on a weekend. Pros + photo boothCons – too crowded
