Where are the Best DJs in San Francisco, California?
I saw the photo here on CitySearch and I thought it might be a great spot to try out with a friend in from out of town. I thought the decor was kind of fun, but it was dude-city. The ratio of girl to guy was abysmal. I want to say it was just San Francisco on a Thursday, and maybe the girls weren’t out on a Thursday after Valentine’s day, but it was just almost all dudes in suits and not really fun. However, service in the top back bar was terrific and friendly. It seems like they did a good job of making a nice looking place and they did have fun booths for bottle service. But it also smelled like bleach as soon as you walked in the door, like they cleaned musty old carpets or something. Combined with the sword fight and I’m not considering returning soon. I wish them well as it looked like they had good intentions. It just needs to be tweaked to make it more fun.
as a new resident of san francisco (i just moved here from los angeles), I found hope in finding a great dive bar to compare to my favorite LA bar, Beauty Bar. This one’s alright on weekdays, music is great, but good luck even getting to the dance floor on a weekend night. It’s so small and really is nothing like Beauty Bar LA. Except for the glitter painted walls and manicures, of course. If you are a frequent visitor of BB LA, you’ll be disappointed. BB SF is so much smaller, and lacks the charisma that it’s cousin in Hollywood portrays. AND the worst part is, there is no smoking room, which was my favorite part of BB LA. Oh well, I’ll continue to go, but you’ll never see me there on a weekend. Pros + photo boothCons – too crowded
Eclectic, engaging, stimulating, this bar has it all… yet it manages to be hard to classify. It’s an urban bar in the truest sense, and we always enjoy going, whether it’s for an early, quiet drink, live music, or whatever. We were torn about whether to tell all of our friends about it, or to not tell anyone and keep it our little secret to ourselves. This place is not exactly a secret, but since it’s so far out in the Mission, you’re at least guaranteed not to run into any tourists in this place.
