Geared toward non-dancers, the Latin Workout class at Alpharetta?s Daza Dance Academy incorporates various Latin dances like cha cha, rumba, salsa and samba in an hour-long session that is invigorating, fun and not a bit intimidating. Instructor Melbin de la Cruz went over each dance step-by-step before cranking up the music so we could give it a whirl. Though the tempo of the class seemed to start slow, I felt my heart rate increasing with each passing minute, and the hour flew by before I knew it. By the grand finale, the fast-paced merengue, my blood was really flowing and I was feeling the effects of a true aerobic workout. The Latin dances particularly target your core muscles and your hips, said de la Cruz, pointing out that even the rumba, the slowest of the moves, increases core muscle control. My daughter has danced for 8 years. She is in her third year at the Georgia Ballet. We changed studios three years ago because my daughter wanted more rigorous, consistent ballet training. We have been very pleased with the directors, teachers and the facilities at the Georgia Ballet. My daughter feels she has finally found a ballet “home”. She is treated as an individual and not just one in a crowd. She gets regular positive feedback and constructive criticism. I am new to taking dance and was very nervous to try a class. I got a group of my friends together and we went to take one of the explore classes, which are designed for beginners. Well….we had an absolute blast in the class!! We took from an instructor named Herb and he was the best! We felt like we were pros by the end of the hour. They sale a monthly unlimited card and you can take as many classes as you want in 30 days. Me and my friends purchased this card and will be in class everyday! They offer a diversity of classes with so many talented instructors. The instructors have worked with the best in the dance industry. If you read their bios…they are very impressive. I have never been to such a cool place! The decor is trendy and the environment is chilled. The front desk staff were very friendly and gave us a tour of the studio and answered all of our questions with a smile. You don’t see customer service like this too often. Ladies….You have to check out the Ladies Liberation program offering a wide variety of classes just for ladies 18+ ….And the hip-hop, ballet, tap, and salsa classes are amazing! No matter what you are looking for this studio has it!…..If your looking for a place to bring your kids after school, in the summer while school is out, or during the holidays when your trying to do your all day shopping look no further, they offer a wide range of camps and year around kids programs!Pros + There is something for everyone!
