Yes, Bakeman has reasonably good sandwiches. HOWEVER, every single time I’ve ordered lunches with Bakeman’s the owner of the shop has been exceptionally rude, and today was the worst treatment I’ve ever received by any restaurant. My boss happens to like their sandwiches, and likes them for his lunch meetings. I just emailed him today, requesting that we never use them again. Typically I fax in the lunch order, and then call shortly afterwards to confirm it, and get chewed out by the owner that he doesn’t have time to deal with calls like that and he’s busy. Today I opted not to call in to confirm the order (and avoid getting yelled at) and when I arrived, they claimed not to have gotten the order, even though I brought in the confirmation and written order. The owner chewed me out for not calling and accused me multiple times of faxing it elsewhere or not sending it correctly. He started yelling in front of everyone that he didn’t have time for this kind of stuff, and didn’t

I’ve been to Thai Tom twice, and it’s great but when I ask myself how much I’d like it if it weren’t for the long wait, I think it would be just slightly above average. People tend to follow the herd, whatever’s popular, and if you inconvenience yourself to wait, you have to justify that to yourself if you don’t want to feel like an idiot, so I think people over-estimate how good the food actually is.Pros + Unique, popular, good foodCons – 20+ minute wait

An easy-to-drive-by traditional French Bakery, Le Fournil has never disappointed when I am craving a sandwich, a coffee, a pastry, or all three. I am a trucker (original word starts with s and rhymes with trucker) for their tuna sandwich; I get this about 80% of the time. Served on a portion of their fresh baked baguette, any of their sandwiches make for one fine lunch. The soup is pretty good too, but again, the tuna rules. Their lunch special (available whenever) includes a pastry and a drink for about $8. Too many pastry choices to list (probably close to 20!). All delicious. My favorites include the mille fueille (?) and the choux. The coffee is good. I typically go for a latte and have yet to be disappointed. Beware: Long lines can form during breakfast and lunch. While the place is ‘easy to drive by’, once people find it (myself included), they quickly learn to make a stop. Don’t let this discourage you though, the food is definitely worth the wait. The new-er decor is nice and t

I went to Gorditos after hearing that it is has such wonderful food. I went there recently with my mom expecting a waiter style sit down restaurant, but was disappointed to find it to be a fast food style place. You order at the counter and take a pinata to your table. Hopefully you have enough people or hands to carry your basket of chips, dish of salsa, and your drink to your table yourself. After a bit of time, staff will show up at your table with your food. But they dont show up with utensils or napkins. We had none on our table and the waitstaff didnt even notice when she dropped off our food. The good customer service thing to do is to then offer to go get the utensils for you, or at least point out where they are. The menu looks deceivingly big, but in reality it breaks down to burritos either large or Grande. The Grande burritos are HUGE and not bulked up with rice as is often the case with other places. The meat inside is well cooked and juicy, although lacking in spice
