Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Savannah, Georgia?
Love this place. Service can be spotty depending on who you get and how busy. Food is not bad, not great, but fair priced. The beer is absolutly amazing, especially the IPA. One of the best Ive have. You can get a sampler to start and then get your favorite with a Moon River pint glass to take home. By far the best (only?) brewery in town.Pros + Beer Beer and More BeerCons – Service can be spotty
Luckily we got a reservation rather easily. We walked by on a Tuesday evening around seven and made one for a couple of hours later. The place is massive, it’s a bit overwhelming. So big that it doesn’t feel personable. And knowing Paula Deen is a personable kind of gal, I was suprised at this. I guess you have to make it huge though so you can feed all the people who want to eat there. The servers were nice enough but nothing more, almost borderline snobby. Being in the south I was excepting some of that great charm they’re (especially Paula!) famous for, but I was not finding that here. Another disappointment. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious. I could not decide. Being torn between a few different seafood dishes, I asked for the server’s opinion. Her response was, “Which of those fish do you like the best? Then you should get that one.” That is not necessarily true and I really think that was quite a lazy and pathetic response. I ended up getting the fried
Felt much more like L.A. than what I thought a Savannah restaurant would be like. We visited here the first night of our honeymoon. Martinis are supposed to be the speciality, but they were just good, not great. We were told to do the tapas for two, but found it much better to order more tapas, and skip the salad and dessert. Definetly worth visiting. One of the 3 best restaurants we visited in the 10 days in Savannah, Charleston, and HHI.Pros + Food variety and portions. Music and ambience were great.Cons – Pricey martinis.
