Where are the Best Cheap Eats in San Francisco, California?
We were in SF for a convention and tried Chuntey from a recommendation from the desk at the Hotel Adagio which is just around the corner. The food has good flavor but the service is poor. I had chicken vindaloo which is suppossed to be one of the spicier dishes, NOT SPICY at all, and small sharp bones not removed from chicken. We also ordered Briyani which we never had delivered to our table. I have had much better food and service fom the Chaat Cafe!Pros + Close to hotels, Cheap PricesCons – food preparation
It was a beautiful day and wanted to celebrate my 1st day of vacation by heading up to San Francisco for lunch. I was craving an old fashioned burger and wanted to try out Burger Joint. Hearing they serve Niman Ranch meat at reasonable prices, I wanted to give it a try. Located on Haight and Pierce, you cant miss it, it’s right on the corner. I can’t offer any advice on parking, I lucked out and found a spot 2 blocks away. I went with the cheeseburger and fries for $6.85. Meat – cooked over an open flame. Tasted lean yet juicy with flavors. The grease didn’t leak too much over the bun to make it soggy. Meat was semi-crumbly and patty was about average size. I wish they offered a double cheeseburger. Exceptional piece of work Buns – sesame bread and fluffy. I don’t think it’s baked on the premises but enjoyed it alot Toppings – bermuda onion slice, leaf or butterhead lettuce, thin sliced tomato…all of it fresh tasting Fries – awesome!! thick cut fries and heavy portions.
