Where are the Best Cheap Eats in San Francisco, California?

A lot of guys line up for burgers and dogs because this place is pretty much a no hassle lunch spot. I wouldn’t say it’s super cheap and the burgers are not the best in town, but I like going because it’s simple, it’s quick, and it’s consistent. A bowl of chili goes well with a burger. The fish and chips are also tasty. Get there well before the lunch rush on sunny days to grab a table on the back patio. There are more days without Giants games than with throughout the year, so just go when there is less of a crowd.Pros + outdoor patio, no hassle, kinda cheapCons – average food, long lines

Love.. Love.. Love! Totally in love with this restaurant. Where should i begin? First, the price is unbeatable. Second, the food is extremely delicious (some of my favorite are Caterpillar & Rainbow Roll, Nabeyaki & Teriyaki Udon, Salmon Bento). Last, great service & lovely atmosphere. I never been to other lunch spot in downtown who offer better customer service with a beautiful small garden right in front . My company always order catering from them since 2 years ago and never face any disapointment at all. I’m highly recomment this restaurant.Pros + Great Value for Affordable Price & Food Quality. Beautiful Ambiance & Great Service.Cons – During busy hour, you might have to wait in line to order ( I never wait more than 5 minutes, it goes very quick). But it is totally worth it.

Normally I am not one to write reviews, but this place is really one that required my adding my 2¢ to the ether. Wow! This place is truly a find, and the food is awesome. This is the kind of curry house that I would expect to find on Brick Lane in London. We had the vegetable pakora, chicken tikka masala, and the achar gosht, basmati rice, and onion nan. MMMMMMmmmmmm….. The spices have wonderful flavours, ones that add the fire to your mouth in that savoury way where you really feel alive. The design is really simple and works with the overall atmosphere. This place is truly a find–I am so glad that it is 5 blocks form my house–I already know that this will be one of my regular haunts from now on.Mrs. Lovett’s Meat PiesPros + INCREDIBLE food. Cheap! Funky atmosphereCons – None, really.

I had read about Saigon Sandwiches in 2003 edition best of Citysearch cheap eats for San Francisco. It was on the editorial list and at the time, the editorial guys were rock solid. I let Saigon Sandwiches bake on my wish list for 4 years and finally made the visit. To cut directly to the chase, Saigon Sandwiches lives up to the hype and rate it at the top of my list. I would have given a 9.5 but need to try Terry’s place, Cam Huong in Oakland. We might have a shootout for the banh mi crown. Sandwiches are cheap at $2.50 but the difference with this shop and the others is this isn’t afraid to load up on the meat. This is the most meat I’ve even seen placed in a vietnamese sandwich shop. I ordered the roast pork and there were strips upon strips of sweet marinated pork. Yes, there’s fatty pieces of pork and no, I’m not complaining since it is a $2.50 piece of work. For cooking method, I think she cooks them beforehand in a frying pan then lets them sit in steel chafing trays for a sl

place has a great ambiance to it. the decorations have foliage wall papers that is soothing to the eye and relaxes you. the food is also very good and the preparations and decorations on your plate is also a bit unconventional and very enticing. it’s refreshing to see orchid petals on your dish as a decoration form such an unpretentious place. once you taste their food, you’ll also be blown away by the perfect blend of herbs and spices that is the signature of a great thai cuisine. definitely a good value for moneyPros + food, service
