Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Sacramento, California?
Just a small neighborhood kind of place, but has some wonderful sushi specials, including Aji (Spanish Mackerel), Sakura (King Mackerel), and Uni (Sea Urchin). For main course I had grilled Saba Shoiaki (Japanese Mackerel), which was just a bit dry, did not have that oily fresh sea test I’m used to. Vegetable side dishes were quite good, including Gomae (steamed asparagus & spinach in sesame sauce). Miso soup was not quite as flavorful as elsewhere, but otherwise everything was fine. Restaurant itself is kind of small, with only about 15 tables, however the attentive service by beautiful young waitresses more than makes up for any lack of ambience.Pros + Sushi specials, Menu choices/variety, Attractive waitressesCons – Not huge
I?ve got three words for you: Super Wet Burrito. La Favorita Taqueria has great food at reasonable prices and the service is the fastest I have ever seen. It?s worth visiting just to witness the amazingly fast service, let alone the extraordinary Mexican cuisine. Of all the quality Mexican food on the menu at La Favorita Taqueria I need to point out that the Super Wet Burrito is a gem deserving of special recognition. Friends of mine travel from out of town, even out of state, just to eat the Super Wet Burrito at La Favorita Taqueria. Try it, you won?t be disappointed.Pros + Lightening fast service, great food, fresh churro cart on weekendsCons – I have no complaints whatsoever
RiverK just recently opened (off of Eureka road near the Century 14 movie theaters) and we thought we would give it a try since we love finding new places to eat. The food was AMAZING and so inexpensive! I ordered a wood-fired thin crust chicken pesto pizza, my husband got a bacon, mushroom, swiss burger and we shared a few fish tacos ($1.75 for a taco, what a deal!). We were so impressed by the quality and presentation of the food and wells the smiling and friendly staff. The inside of the restaurant is colorful and vibrant but we chose to sit outside in the umbrella-shaded patio which is bordered by potted rosemary plants. I sipped on some wine (only $3.95 a glass) and my husband went for a Guiness (they have a great selection of beers on tap).RiverK’s is our new favorite restaurant!Pros + Inexpensive, Great atmosphere, Awesome food
