We found Bucc’a food to be pretty good and authentic, but if you are a couple that likes a variety of different foods, this is NOT the palce for you. Dishes arrive “family style” and in gargantuan proportions that easily feed six, so make sure you have a party of six!Food was good and I loved the decor.Sevice was above average also. Not a long wait for seating. We will go back……..but with 4 more friends or a pack of hungry teenaged boys with hollow legs!Pros + Good value for large groups/families, Ambience, ServiceCons – Not a good place for a couple(too much food!)

I spend a lot of time in Baja, so moving recently to Sac I wondered if I’d find anything similar to what I eat south of the border. I FOUND IT! Los Jarritos is good and cheap! Try the “paletas”, mexican ice cream bars or order a mexican pastry. I will return to Los Jarritos soon!Pros + great deal, bakery, ice cream bars

Mimi’s s GREAT. A nice meal including soup or salad at a very reasonable price. Delicious onion soup. A huge selection of entrees, salads, sandwiches. Excellent quality and good service. A popular place, so expect a wait, but it moves fairly quickly. Can be a little noisy when full, but nothing like a lot of restaurants.Pros + Prices, Quality, ServiceCons – A wait sometimes, A little noisy

Whitey’s Jolly Cone is a drive in hamburger stand with excellent cheap eats and thick and frosty shakes. For a short time every summer they make heavenly peach shakes. Check out one of the 50’s night events complete with classic cars of the era or stop by for a breakfast sandwich with the “Frog Pond” regulars. Whitey’s can be very crowded at lunch and after Little League games, but you can order ahead by phone if you’re in a hurry.Pros + Inexpensive, Retro, Fun
