Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Richmond, Virginia?
WOW!!!!!This could be the worst place in Richmond…if not the United States! The food was TERRIBLE!!! We ordered our burger medium rare, they were BLACK!!!!! The Calamaria came with a SOUR CREAM dip!!! The keg beer was not right, a bit watered-down. The best part was the table next to us. It was about 5:30PM and the trash bags next to us were WASTED! They would get up to go and do some SNOW in bathroom once in a while and the rest of the time one of them, a stripper no doubt, was doing “quarter qrinds” on her friends!!! What a great place!! Oh, by the way, they were all in their LATE 30s!!!!! NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!Pros + Terrible entertainmentCons – EVERYTHING!!!
Since the former owner sold his restaurant to his children. The quality of the food went way down. I was there with my daughter and grandson and the waitress was extremely rude. I asked for our pasta to be served after we finished our salad, the pasta was served five minutes later. The sauce was skimpy, only the top had sauce, the sides and inside was completely white, plus the pasta was to come with 3 cheeses melted, that was also skimpy. I was very disappointed. When I asked for extra sauce I was told I would have to pay for it, even though I showed that the pasta was white, the manger would not budge, saying it had sauce on top. The pasta was mushy, hardly any melted cheese, the portion was smaller then it use to be and the lack of sauce, made for a very disappointing meal. The salad was skimpy, lack of extra ingredients. We were treated very badly, my grandson did not even get service utensils, his hamburger was burnt, it was like a rock. This food was not fit for humans. If you wa
On a warm, lovely night in Richmond, this is a great place to go for drinks and hanging out. From other reviews, we expected the margaritas to be good and the food mediocre. We found the opposite. The margaritas were large and refreshing, but the frozen lime margarita was really weak on flavor – the mango better – so go with the fresh fruit ones – and don’t expect an alcohol buzz. A large basket of warm chips greeted us, with a chunky tomato salsa that could have used a bit of spicing up, but was obviously fresh. Two of us had the chipolte shrimp, and it was a tasty platter of fresh cooked veggies, flavorful sauce on the shrimp, and a nice fruit/bean salsa. Some our our group also got the enchiladas and fajitas and there were no complaints from them. It seems there’s also usually a good beer special – and prices were great for these beers. The hostess was reluctant to put us (5!) at a table on the patio for drinks only – as initially we thought we would not be doing dinner. She also
We weren’t sure what to expect given the location in an older shopping center at Hull and Turner, but as soon as we entered the clean, cheery interior, we were pleasantly surprised. We visited on a week day evening and were quickly seated in a comfortable booth and brought a heaping basket of crisp corn chips (we were later offered a refill), white sauce and exceptional salsa with an ample aroma of cilantro. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout. A huge order of chicken fajitas with side of refried beans, a huge entree consisting of a mushroom quesadilla (containing about 100 sliced mushrooms), a spinach burrito, a potato enchilda (unusual, but interesting), a soda and a Dos Equis was just under $20. I normally finish entrees at Mexican restaurants, but had enough fajita leftovers (which was LOADED with chicken) to box up for lunch the next day. Of course, had I not eaten so many chips…The only areas for improvement are to supply more than one napkin (I asked for ext
