Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?
My mom and I went to Little Pete’s for a weekend breakfast recently – It was awesome. I’m from a small southern Indiana town, and the overweight bleach blonde waitress who referred to her customers as “hun” was a little bit of home for me! 🙂 What people out here call “comfort food” is normal food to me and that’s Little Pete’s. You won’t find healthy exciting or inventive dishes on the menu, but you’ll find plently of GOOD eats and isn’t that what it’s all about after all??Pros + grease = delicious foodCons – grease = fatty food
Tony Luke’s is a Philly tradition. If you’re looking for a cheesesteak or a chicken parm sub, this is the place to go before a Flyers, Phillies or Sixers game. And now they’re even open on Sundays before Eagles games! But if you’re looking for the absolute best roast pork sandwich on the planet, then Tony Luke’s is the place to go. The roast pork Italian comes with either broccoli rabe or spinach rabe and SHARP provolone cheese. Without hesitation I can honestly say this is the single best sandwich I’ve ever tasted. The pork has a delicious spice, the rolls are cooked on-site, the broccoli rabe has a nice zing to it and the cheese is melted heaven. Honestly, if you’re a Philly guy, you know this place. If you’re not and happen to be in Philly, do yourself a favor and head to Tony Luke’s. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
This is the best place for a good hearty lunch, a great office party, or just to relax after shopping. I truly find this place to be one of the best in town. As many years as I have worked in town, I never miss the chance to go to the Irish Pub. Once you are seated, it is very easy to forget to return to work since the food is filling and the service is great. Keep up the good work.Pros + good food, good service, great value
Food was good…The Lychee Martini, however will keep this New Orleans girl coming back forever…..This is the best martini I have ever had…The glasses are kept frozen until it comes to your table…then…they pour your ice cold martini from the shaker at the table…Nervana! for Martini drinkers…this is a must…we do not like seeing our drink sitting at the bar straight up getting hotter by the second till the waiter notices it 20 minutes later..rather not even drink it by then…they also have a huge lychee nut on a skewer bobbing in this icey cold concoction that is the most addicting, delicious way to start a great evening of great food and conversation.. looking at my watch right now…going to stop by for one before heading back to my hotel….yummmmmm..Pros + The MARTINIS…FROZEN GLASSES …POURED FROM SHAKER AT YOUR TABLE
Visited Copa on Sun. 7/22/07 around 3pm. The restaurant was extremely crowded but seemed to have a fun vibe. Bartendar had a great attitude as did most of the servers…HOWEVER, our server was not in tune with the rest of the bunch. Safe to assume that if there was no observation of the other wait staff, I would never return to the restaurant. When our server came to the table, there was not so much as a hello. She literally stood at the table and starred at us as if we had telekinetic powers to decipher what was in her head. After a looong 10-15 seconds of starring, she parted her lips and said, “what doya’ want?”….. When asked about the food such as, how is the shrimp basket , she kind of nodded her head with no real answer. It actually felt like we were an annoyance to her. She came halfway back to the table one time and in passing said to my husband, “‘ nother Lager?” She did not return to the table until SHE thought it was time for us to pay the bill. At that point, she
