Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Orlando, Florida?

Everytime I walk in I always get in a line that is not a line and then a few seconds later it becomes a line. All the little Stepford people who love this place seem to have no problem with the set up there. Maybe I just need to go there more often. Thankfully the food is pretty good, but as far as “cheap eats” that would be a big NO. p.s. If you are going to advertise low carb bagels, please try to have some in the morning. I know, what kind of idiot would go to Panera for low-carb bread of any kind? Well, FYI, they happen to do a mean low-carb asiago bagel, which goes very well with any of their sandwich fillings.

If you want home style food with attitude, check out the ’50’s Prime Time Cafe. We were dealt with by Aunt Debbie, a wonderful person and server. She treated us like long lost family, sat down and chatted about the weather, the family and how we were enjoying our vacation. As for the attitude, when another young diner sat down at a table next to us, MOM came out and informed the young man that we do not wear hats at the table. He removed it quickly. The food was fabulous. The pot roast fell apart at the touch. And the ambiance! I remember my kitchen from my youth looking exactlly like this place. If you are tired of the nasty fast food, you have to try here!Pros + Food, Aunt Debbie, PriceCons – Nothing!

The SceneInspired by pub crawling during his days at UF and UCF, Brian Wheeler borrowed $20,000 from his father to create a college-town eatery for the Orlando area. This first outlet on University spawned the growing chain that features small tables inside and out on the sidewalk, flaming phantasmagoric images on the walls and runners who deliver orders by calling out first names. The FoodIt’s fast Tex-Mex without lard or heat lamps. Burritos come in regular and hearty Tijuana size. Choose the stuffing: mildly spiced ground beef, chicken, bean, or a mix, wrapped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and sour cream. For a lighter meal, try chicken quesadillas, blackened for the most flavor. Skip mediocre chili. Tijuana Flats innovations include blue tortilla cups for sides of salsa and a hot-sauce bar dispensers with concoctions like Chickens**t, a fire and mustard combo, and Thai sweet chili. Heed the labels.

Our family was just down in Orlando on vacation the week of August 22nd. Was looking for a good chinese food restaurant for a family dinner — Kim Wu exceeded our expectations. The hot and sour soup was the best I’ve ever had. Fried dumplings were cooked perfectly — not dried out from the frying step and a nice meaty filling. The first time there (yes, we went twice), wife and I shared Schezuan beef, the second time we had Crispy beef. We agreed it was the best Crispy beef we’d had since being introduced to it in London back in 1996. For the kids, they had the parasols and other paper ornaments for their drinks, made them sweet and sour chicken. And even the finishing touches after the meal were great, a plate of cut orange, pineapple, and fortune cookies — all included with the meal. Definitely a keeper for our next trip. BTW — this is right down the street from Universal Orlando, less than a mile, so if you’re staying there, make this a priority.Pros + Food Quality was Superb,

Royal Thai is probably the best Thai place in all of Orlando, though that is not saying much especially since the city/suburbs lack any type of culinary cultural integrity. Definitely, the dishes are…
