Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Orlando, Florida?
We found Anh Hong through the City Search site and ate there at lunchtime when we visited Orlando in Feb. Our server quickly realized that we needed help with the extensive menu. She guided us by asking what we liked and made recommendations. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The spring rolls, not fried, were scrumptious. We both had squid dishes (different ones) , something we cannot get in our favorite family Chinese restaurant at home…cooked to tender perfection and deliciously “hot.” The best part was realizing that this was a family owned restaurant…our favorite kind. When we finished eating, the “hostess” came to our table to welcome us. We learned that she was part of the family who owned the restaurant. We were delighted to learn about their journey to America and then to meet her two daughters and her nieces when they arrived after school with cream filled doughnuts to snack on! Salad, main course, and dessert for $4 is hard to beat. Where else can you do that? The staff is very friendly and if you don’t see the kind of pizza you want the will make it for you and deliver it to your table. The salad is basic, the pizza is good, the pasta is mediocre but the cinnamon rolls are to die for. Not much for atmosphere (usually lots of kids) and can be noisy at times but great for a family on a budget.
