Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Oakland, California?
I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the last few years for both business and pleasure, and have always enjoyed it. The staff are warm & friendly, and the food is very good, with a great selection (excellent vegi and meat options). Prices are quite reasonable too. My only issue might be that the food takes a little while to arrive when they are busy.Pros + tasty food, friendly service, accomdating for groupCons – occassionally slow
I’ve been going to Cafe Fanny ever since my sister introduced me to it (she had heard about it in Los Angeles). The counter service is actually very friendly (in spite of what other people have written) and even though you have to wait for the food, it is always tasty and well prepared. A bit on the pricey side but worth it for the fresh and organic eats. I love the chicken sandwich and the cafe aulaits.Pros + Organic, Fresh, Good menuCons – Lack of seating, Price
We love this place!!! We have taken many friends here andthe food is consistently good and the service always friendlyand efficient. The menu isn’t as extensive as other Indianrestaurants but we (or friends) have tried almost everythingon the menu. There are daily lunch/dinner specials witha vegetarian choice and a non-vegetarian choice. There are about 10-12 different chaat (appetizers) frompakora, samosas, mini poori. The veggie wrap isexcellent. (There are meat wraps as well) There are several different naan breads to choose from including onion, garlic and pesto. They have tasty daal soup. The food is mildto medium spicy (the way I like it) I’m not sure if the hot, spicy fan would find this food exciting enough. The biggest problem we have encountered is ordering so manydishes that we run out of room on the ample size tables!Pros + Great food!, Friendly & efficient, Comfy settingCons – Parking may be hard.
Im not a salad gal normally but this places salad is yummy and cheap. For about 4 dollars you get this huge ass salad way more than you can eat in one sitting. unless youre a really big eater i suppose. My fav is the poppy seed dressing on the green salad. enjoy I had a soup once but I didnt really like it that much. oh yeah. be careful. its cash only.
