Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Nashville, Tennessee?
The French Toast was AWESOME! Very pretty looking too! If the person ahead of us hadn’t noticed we had to get a parking ticket, we might’ve gotten towed! It’s free in the parking lot behind for the 1st 1 1/2 hrs. (with a lot ticket)…other wise you need to find street parking. We went on a Monday afternoon, so the wait was under 10 minutes. We got seated at a table along the wall, so we were very close to the two tables on either side of us. But it was a casual place and the waitress was very relaxed, it was enjoyable. The volume seemed loud at times, but nothing too over the top. The service was fast & friendly and the order, accurate. The bathrooms could’ve used work, but I’ve seen worse. The table was clean. After one of the owners started having children, he must have decided to make it more of a “family” restaurant, and a lot of the atmosphere/ambiance/quirkiness that made McDougal’s so fun and unique is now gone. Gone are the regular outside table and chairs, to make way for picnic tables that hold 8-10 people. Often people are now forced to share tables, which I am just not interested in doing. Gone are the barstools inside, and in comes the ice cream machine (??) No longer will they sell buckets of beer, and to make matters even worse, you can no longer run a tab, so you are forced to stand in a long line of people ordering food, beers, wings etc when you might just want to grab another beer. The last time I was in was after the Country Music Marathon, and my group ended up st
