Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Kansas City, Missouri?
While I love the Bell street location, it’s the Crown Center spot that keeps me coming back for more. I work downtown and walk to D’Bronx for lunch about twice a week for a great made to order deli sammich or a couple pieces of pizza pie…not to mention some great soups. While I love pizza, all kinds and styles of pizza, D’Bronx carries a great tradition of NYC style pizza, mind you it’s not true NYC pizza but they’ve captured the essence and gave it the flare needed to make KC proud of this home town spot. The main reason I continue to come to D’Bronx is the staff, while the food is always excellent which I expect, what I don’t expect and don’t receive in many other joints I spent time in is the service and personal friendliness that’s carried within the NYC deli like atmosphere. Where they know how many times you come in during the week, remember the things you order, smile and ask how your day is and maybe even do a little dance while they hop to the music playing in the background
Kin Lin is the place if you are looking for a cheap chinese food. Nothing too impressive, very general chinese food dishes available. I decided to try the place from a word of mouth. The ambience and the taste is average. If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, go to some other chinese place.Pros + Cheap foodCons – Finding the place, parking, service
I have been eating here for years. It is a local place (two other Don Chilito’s failed, one in Independence on Noland Road and one in the Ward Parkway Mall). The food is different but quite good. It is not real Mexican but is good in it own unique way. The soft drinks are way overpriced but the food has good quantity and quality for the price. Lunch is the best value. Many choices of toppings and sizes of entrees. My grandchildren love the free Sopapillas for desert. Try the Hot Sauce Concentrate for a real hot sauce treat.Only Cons are the price of soft drinks. And the place is a bit shabby and decor is dark and dated the restaurant could be cleaner.Pros + Quanity and Quality of food.Cons – Shabby and needs cleaning and updating. High priced soft drinks.
We love Chicago hot dogs and italian beef as well as pizza. This is the closest we get!!! My kids and their family go there regularly too. We absolutely love it. The owner is friendly, service is great but the food is the best. Hot dog rolls are the best too….perfect. and sometimes the pizza is two for one. Prices good/cheap. Brings back romantic memories of Chicago….Dan & Susan Olathe
