Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Houston, Texas?
Mission Burrito (all it’s locations) and Freebirds World Burrito and It’s a Wrap are N-O-T-H-I-N-G compared to Chipotle. The quality and taste of the selection is far superior to the rest of the burrito wrap places. The rice is the best, sometimes I go JUST to order rice. The guacamole is better than anything I’ve tasted, even authentic Mexican. The meats are perfectly spiced, and well presented, unlike the trashy looking ones at other joints (waste of $$). The only slight downside is that Chipotle is not very “happenin”, but I go just to relax in CLEANLINESS and eat delicious and filling food. I don’t like chains. They tend to become slaves of corporate greed and cut corners; the result is usually under-par food. Beck’s Prime might just be the exception to the rule. Not content with having a solidly good burger, they step things up with some of the best milkshakes in Houston. And best of all? It’s located smack dab in the middle of Memorial Park! Talk about an awesome location. The burgers have good, flavourful beef and crisp, fresh vegetables; they finish things off with some of the best, buttery buns in the business to make it the meanest burger in town. Of course, quality comes with a price, and expect to pay a good 12 dollars a head here, but when you take into consideration how damn good the burgers are, you pay it happily.
The absolute best thing at Niko Niko’s are the oven potatoes. How good can you get? Sprinkle some more of the seasoning over them, extra seasoning is in parmesan cheese shakers on the tables, and we are talkin.’The Pork Chops are delicious! They are marinated in olivie oil, lemon, and garlic. I must say, though, that the chops are thinner than they used to be. The lamb kebob is a good choice, also. The lamb and veggies are cooked perfectly.How can you go wrong with gyros? Simple, delicious, satisfying. If you crave something on the lighter side, the pesto salmon and trout are lovely, as well.Now that the weather is turning colder, I have to recommend that you try some of their coffees.
