Going to Portillo’s is an experience. There is just so much to choose from and everything is great. It’s perfect for a quick bite with a lot of people, because everyone will find something they like. I’ve been to the one downtown a few times and their drive thru is unbelievably efficient. Very impressive. I’ve also been to one in the suburbs after golf, which also offers a great experience.Lastly, a friend of mine has had a few parties with Portillo’s catering. Very well done!Pros + Tons of choicesCons – Very busy

There is little more that I can say than the title. Pita Inn is probably the best inexpensive Middle-Eastern cuisine in the Chicago area. For under 20 bucks you can easily feed a family of four and probably have some leftovers to boot ( at least of the salads: hommos, tabuleh, babaganoujh, etc). They do not skimp on the pita served with the salads either, which is also exceptional as many of the alternatives to Pita Inn only include a few pieces of bread and make you pay for any additional.Pros + Tasty, relatively Healthy, InexpensiveCons – , Location

If you want a taste of old time Chicago, head to Manny’s!Sandwiches, hot plate meals are the order of the day. Get in line and make up your mind quickly as the guys behind the counter are ready to serve. In a good way, you’ll get an earful if you don’t order the right way! So, I went with a roast beef sandwich that was so filled with roast beef, and stacked so high on the bread that I literally had to use a knife and fork to eat the sandwich!!! Outside of being embarrassed as I struggled with the mighty sandwich, the flavor is awesome.Take your sandwich after you pay and you are surrounded by a bunch of either Loop workers out for lunch(it’s worth the small drive) or old timers from around the neighborhood sitting shooting the breeze. There is nothing fancy about this place. You come for the sandwiches, the aura of an old time deli(the place has been around for over 50 years) and the opportunity to take half of that monster sandwich home with you.If you get a chance, head
