Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Charleston, South Carolina?
I’ve been to this restaurant twice now. The first time, I must admit it was fun; we sat outside on a beautiful afternoon, had a decent server, but basically had beers and appetizers. The second time was not as nice; we sat upstairs, which I found to be stuffy and uncomfortable. My lunch was little more than an overfried piece of fish on soggy toast – no flavor. Our waitress was more interested in talking to her co-workers about aftershift plans than taking care of her customers. I doubt I’ll go back unless it’s for cocktails and a place to rest my feet
Whenever I go to visit my son in Charleston, I try to manage a meal with Five Loaves which is within walking distance of my son’s house. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, I have eaten there is fantastic, creative, and fresh. My only disappointment in the restaurant has been when I am only in Charleston on a Sunday when the restaurant is closed. These hardworking Five Loaves people need a break but I do wish they were within walking distance of MY house in Gainesville GA. I know, fat chance! Thanks heavens, we get to Charleston occasionally.Pros + everything on the menu
My husband and I like going here for drinks. They’re mini pitchers are awesome! Only $6 for a Long Island Mini…. Yummy! The wings are great and they do have specials during the week! I also recommend their buffalo chicken salad and the grande chicken nacho! Check it out! But if you are bringing kids, you might not want to go on Friday and Saturday nights, and its not a place for first dates! They sometimes have live music too!Pros + Food, DrinksCons – Parking
