Where are the Best Cheap Eats in Albany, New York?
You got to see this place to beleive it! It is the ultimate hot dog stand. People from all over pulling up to this little joint and getting a bag full of hot dogs (with Gus’s famous sauce.) and hamburgers. The hot dogs and hamburgers are small but tasty. They are also dirt cheap. This is the working Joe’s pit stop. It’s fun to see this institution that has survived for half a century by not changing at all. There is very limited seating inside so don’t plan on a large group to sit down. Most order up from the window.Pros + Cheap, Fast, GoodCons – Tiny
Western Avenue, Albany, NY near the Crossgates Mall.My wife and I have been there several times and have left quite unimpressed. We now call this particular diner “the sh*tty pancake diner” – for obvious reasons. We have also had some seriously bad service there as well, and when it was virtually empty at the time. Too many other places to go, we do not waste our money at the Metro 20 diner anymore. Pros + Location to the mallCons – Poorly trained staff; average food.
