Where are the Best Bed and Breakfasts in Minneapolis, Minnesota?

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner in the restaurant, with very attentive service. The first course of scallops qualifies as THE best appetizer I have ever had, anywhere. The inn lodgings were as depicted on the website, with two caveats: the “St.Croix view” from the balconies of rooms 28-31 is across two parking lots and a marina; and the rooms were unexpectedly noisy–TV, conversations, and jacuzzi jets were all quite audible in the next room, rather detracting from the “just us” ambience we might have expected. 5 Stars for the food, 3 for the lodging.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed in the Joseph room. My fiancee and I had just been engaged that morning, and this place capped off an amazing day. The swedish shower and the double jacuzzi tub were the highlights. After enjoying both of them, we were completely relaxed! The breakfast was amazing…omelette with gouda cheese and sun dried tomatoes…fresh oj…fresh sliced grapefruit…orange pecan scones…and flourless chocolate cake. We definitely recommend this place!Pros + Decorative Room, Great Shower and JacuzziCons – Expensive, Uncomfortable Bed

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Rivertown Inn this past Saturday night. We have stayed at several Stillwater inns in the past, and so far this is one of our favorites. We stayed in the Lord Byron Suite – it was beautiful, clean and meticulously appointed. We were especially impressed with the quality and comfort of the bed – it was heavenly! The double whirlpool was huge and filled quickly. The breakfast was outstanding – although it was very rich for the first meal of the day. But we loved it anyway. The staff was all friendly and professional (we did not meet the owners). All in all, I would highly recommend the Rivertown Inn.Pros + Luxurious rooms, gourmet breakfast, complimentary wine & cheese “happy hour”Cons – a bit expensive

The Rosewood Inn Bed and Breakfast is by far the finest my wife and I have visited. The innkeepers have meticulously and lovingly listened to their guests’ suggestions and thought of every detail. Nearly every room is equipped with both a jacuzzi bath AND fireplace, and boasts a uniquely charming decor. Our room, the Solarium, had windows that stretched 20′ and arched into the ceiling. Breakfast was fabulous, and can be served in your room at your request. We felt completely and romantically secluded, and slept wonderfully. The Inn is an easy walk from delightful downtown Hastings, where we enjoyed antique shopping and great dining. A little on the expensive side, but worth saving up for!Pros + Luxurious Rooms, Jacuzzi & Fireplace, Very RomanticCons – Expensive

The host/hostess are very friendly but never hovering. Their Puli dogs love to show off how cute they are. The rooms are romantic – a reviewer listed no tv as a con. If you’re staying in a place like this, you shouldn’t be in the mood for tv! And there is one available in the library. Very tasty breakfast using locally grown, organic foods – wonderful flavors . Close to downtown Red Wing. Lots to do in town, shopping, biking, hiking, boating, music, plays. Great restaurant, Norton’s, nearby. Only a very minor negative: Early in the morning, a very loud (inebriated?) guest couple was taking a long time trying to get to their room and the noise woke us up. My very shy husband did not like the community breakfast table – eating with strangers. But, I being a social butterfly, loved it! Pros + Relaxing, Breakfast, 1st class qualityCons – For shy people, the community dining table.
