Where are the Best Bartenders in Salt Lake City, Utah?
The weekend DJ is awesome! He plays the best mix of old school hip hop that gets EVERYONE pumped up & ready to have a good time. The dance floor is itsy bitsy (saying it’s tiny is an understatement) & the turnaround time for drinks is slower than molasses. You can always wait up at the bar, which is slightly quicker, but Utah law makes you unable to carry more than 2 drinks back to your table (whatever you do, do NOT leave your table unattended, it’s a SMALL bar so there’s always people waiting to snatch up seats). Its a good place to START your night, maybe sit – have a few drinks – then head off to a larger club.
Skybox is a nice sports bar/grill located in downtown Salt Lake City in the Gateway shopping center. The menu is what you would expect it to be at such a place: burgers, ribs, sandwiches, pizza, and the like, though it does have a few surprises (a rather nice selection of salads and soups, for example). The food is actually pretty good (chile verde burrito might be the best in town), and the atmosphere is fun if you are into sports. There is also a large game room with arcade style games that should entertain kids and adults alike (though the pricing is ridiculous; I think 5 bucks allows you to play a whopping three games of air hockey). The two biggest problems with the skybox are the service and the prices. Servers seem frequently overwhelmed and can sometimes be fairly brusque. Be prepared to figure a lot of stuff out on your own, and don’t expect those drinks to get refilled, since you will probably only see your waiter when he/she takes your order, delivers your food, and
I’ve always wanted to check it out. People are always talking about going, especially on Thursdays. So, I went last Thursday. It was okay. I spent most of my time on the dance floor. It’s pretty roomy, however, the music was a little odd. At first, you’d be dancing to G-Unit..and them it mixes into Beastie Boys. Odd. It was a little dificult to get a drink at the bar. Luckily, there are a few. It wasn’t too bad. I’d go again. One suggestion, go with a big group of friends.Pros + parking. dance floor, multiple bars.Cons – line to get in. music.
