Where are the Best Bartenders in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?

As a passionate lover of beer and burgers, the Standard Tap is absolutely one of my favorite spots in Philly. Always a fantastic selection of local brews that are served by the most knowledgable bartenders I’ve encountered. Just tell them what kind of beer you’re in the mood for and they’ll do the rest. They’ve never done me wrong. The Standard Burger literally tastes as if It was made by God himself. It’s common knowledge in these parts that this is the best burger in Philly. Even the mushrooms on the burger are incredible! Put it this way, my father loved it,and he doesn’t like anything. The crowds usually a friendly mix of local blue-collar and professional types. I’ve also had many interesting conversations with out-of-towners.Pros + food, beer, atmosphereCons – no TV

The Troc has a nice atmosphere, and is pretty small. Concerts sell out very quickly but if you do get a ticket on the floor you are very close to the stage. The balcony also has a nice view to the stage. Food is easily accessable and so is the bathroom. Parking is definately easier than at the Electric Factory, because it is located in Chinatown, which has many pay parking lots. If you want to see your favorite band, close up in a relatively small place, the Troc is the place.Pros + Close to stage, nice balcony, many parking lotsCons – small place, tickets sell out quick

We come here 10pm every tues after volleyball. We are always able to order food (sometimes this is a problem other places on a late tues nite) & the service is always excellent. The food is very good & the portions are big -we ALWAYS have leftovers.Pros + Good food, great service, many menu choicesCons – can be smokey

I stopped by Jon’s with my girlfriend and we wanted to grab a bite to eat. I noticed that they had numerous steaks on the menu so I decided to try one. I ordered the Porterhouse and when it arrived at the table I was shocked at how big it was, it was absolutely massive. It was suprisingly one of the best steaks I had ever had. It came with a choice of soup or salad and two side dishes. There was no way I was going to finish it, so I had it wrapped up and finished it the next day for lunch. My girlfriend ordered the Thai Chicken Salad and she said it was perfect as well. The weather was perfect that night and there was plenty of entertainment on the street. We usually attend Karaoke night and Quizzo night there and always have a good time. Jon’s menu is very big so I find it a great place to take my friends to. The outdoor upstairs bar is great on Friday and Saturday nights and they have heaters and a fire pit throughout the year. They play good music and they keep their business clean.

It might seem like a contradiction to say that a place has “space” as a pro and “no room to move” as a con, but it’s accurate. Plough and the Stars’ biggest problem is that it draws so much of a crowd. The staff at Plough are great. Most are very knowledgeable about beers on tap, as well as what each beer is and what food it might go well with. If you roll through there a lot, the bouncers will definitely remember you. The bartenders are no joke. You can give them a five drink order and it’s very rare you’ll find anything isn’t right. They also pour a pretty heavy drink; there are no watered down drinks at Plough. Before the crowd arrives, there’s ample room on two floors to enjoy yourself. You can find plenty of space to sit as well as stand or dance to the good range of music they play. Some may not like it, but I personally enjoy not feeling like I have American Top 40 on in the bar all the time. On the down side…well, it does get damn crowded. And when it gets crowd
