I went to New Wave on Saturday and I was extremly surprised. This was my second time going and I have to say the second was much better than the first. This time I sat in the dining room and ordered off their dinner menu. The food was great. Even though the dining room is rather small, we were seated promptly. I had crabcakes that were wonderful, my date had the land and sea.. he loved it! The salmon and potato pancake appetizer was the Best! I will definitly go back. Pros + Great dinner menu.. great staffCons – small dining room… more of a sports bar

Was at Apothecary this past weekend. It was amazing! Despite the fact that we had to wait outside (in a long line!) to get in, when we finally did, our group had a blast. Sure, the place was standing room only, but it was still loads of fun. I’ve been to Apothecary a number times before, and each time was able to enjoy a few unique cocktails from their list, as well as some tasty food. Friday was an exception to my experience…albeit crowded, the energy was insane! The waitstaff and bartenders were attentive despite the crowd, and although we may have waited a little longer for service, this didn’t take away from the night in the least. So nice to have another option to the nightlife here in Philadelphia. I’ve spent a lot of weekend nights at the same places in Old City…Apothecary is a welcome addition to the bar scene in Center City!Pros + Out of this world cocktail list, beer/wine selection, atmosphereCons – Waiting in line to get in (the price you pay I guess!)

I came to Drinker’s on a Friday evening with some friends for happy hour. Unfortunately, their happy hour doesn’t start until 7pm. But there’s happy hour next door that starts at 5pm. Now I know! But we had a really good time. Cosmos were pretty pricey for being kind of watered down. But the $3 vodka drinks during happy hour made it worth it. It was kind of crowded, but what bar in the city isn’t? All of the servers are really nice and the food was pretty tasty, too! I would definitely come back.Pros + happy hour, cheap foodCons – too loud to hear the person next to you

Went on a rainy Friday night. Walked in the door and was told there would be a 45 minute wait. There were no seats available at the bar. There was no place really to even stand and wait. My expectations were extremely low at this point. However, soon enough two people got up form the bar and we were able to start out meal there. The wine and cheese selection is pretty nice. In terms of the “snacks” the assorted meat tray was a nice mixture of meat and seemed to be ordered by pretty much everyone in the place.Once a table opened up, they moved us, our food and our bill pretty seemlessly. It was nice having to run the credit card only once. The salad and sandwich were nice. We split them and the server was smart enough to serve the sandwich on two plates. The food is good, but not for a big meal. If you are in the mood for a chill place with a nice glass of wine then this is a good stop. Otherwise you might be a little disappointed.Pricing, 2 people: 2 glasses of wine,
