Where are the Best Bartenders in Los Angeles, California?
First the place is absolutely beautiful. The menu enticing the service ok barely.My wife and I went with another couple to this restaurant. The place looked fantastic and turned out to be a very nice atmosphere for relaxed conversation.The menu looks absolutely fantastic. I ordered the soup and a steak. My wife ordered a seafood dish. The soup was absolutely fantastic as was the bread. The steak a rib-eye was mediocre at best. Although it was prepared to my taste the cut was less than superb not tender not thick and the seasoning was bland. It was somewhat disappointing for a 38 dish. My wife ordered the seafood paella and felt it was similarly mediocre. The other couple both ordered fish dishes and seemed to enjoy them.Service was ok. We had a hard time getting our water glasses refilled.I will give this restaurant one more try as after seeing some of the other dishes delivered to neighboring tables there may be better food options than those that we selected. Went to this place for the first time over the weekend and it was awesome. I’ve always liked good drinks that are STRONG and this place delivers. The place is small and has regulars galore, so get there early if you plan on getting a seat. It’s standing room only as it gets later, and there’s a line outside Fridays and Saturdays. (Not sure about other nights). The drinks are not cheap, but they are worth the price! For once. There is not any food, except a tub of bar ‘snax’, and they only accept cash. The crowd inside is socialable and fun. The decor is great and theres a lot of things to look at. The bartenders are friendly and have tons of stories to share. Oh yeah, and also the bar is owner-operated so smoking here is allowed. That will probably turn off a lot of non-smokers, but as an ex-smoker I wasn’t bothered in the least. I miss this place already and am looking forward to going again.
Chadaka Thai has a good selection of foods that differ from some of the cookie-cutter Thai places around town, which is nice. I was pleasantly surprised (as a Vegetarian who doesn’t eat eggs) that they were willing to substitute/change some ingredients on the menu that other restaurants have been much less willing to switch.Although the waitress forgot about the order we placed for spring-rolls, the service was quick and nice. The food was hot and fresh and well-prepared… We didn’t wait long, and everything tasted greatMy boyfriend and I each ordered a cocktail (mine tasted like floor-cleaner) and they were very strong… Normally we leave with a drink or two from the bar, but before we were even done with the first drink, we were feeling it… It was nice to leave without paying more for booze than for food.Overall, a place I would love to visit again, especially since has such a nice location.
This is one of my very favorite spots in LA. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, I love the tin ceiling and dark wood, and the crowd is so diverse and chill. The old school drink menu (think Manhattans and gimlets) makes you feel like you’ve arrived at a classy joint. As for the food- don’t even get me started on the BLT Salad. Amazing. I could eat it every day. The only area where this place falls short is the bartenders. Holy attitudes. One was so busy (with a non crowded bar) that when we ordered a bottle of wine he slammed the glasses down, sloppily opened the bottle, and as an afterthought he filled each glass to the very top with wine and walked away. Another night the bartender threw my tab at me and said “I’m heading out, so I’m gonna close you out”. This was hours before the bar closed, it was just the end of his shift! Well, where shall I begin? First of all I had reservations for dinner but the door guy couldn’t seem to find it. He literally walked my friends and I to the hostess stand where low and behold I did have a reservation. We were seated fairly promptly because they will not seat you until the majority of your party is on the premesis. Once seated we were given the bread bowl, but no one thought to fill the water glasses. Once we had almost consumed the bread I was finally able to wave down a english challenged bus boy to let him know that we would like some water and to order drinks. I will say that once we had a waitress she was very attentive and sweet. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but good with a great presentation. The ambience was really nice, lots of candles, the tent like roof, waterfall and banana trees . A little chilly at night due to the open spaces between the roof and walls.
