My husband COOGS and I have been regulars here for a couple of years now, coming 2-3 times per week to play NTN/Buzztime trivia with our friends. Mezz offers an all-around great experience, from the attentive staff to the food (the Mezzy burger is a world unto itself, while COOGS swears by the nachos) to the ambience (lots of things to do even for the non-trivia player, including pool, karoaoke, Golden Tee, and and Texas Hold ‘Em). The Mezzanine rightfully won the Houston Press “Reader’s Choice” award this year for best drink specials, from its $2.50 U-Call-It Tuesdays to the Fiesta Fridays where both Dos Equis and margaritas come in also at $2.50.Owners Tonya and Tommy put a lot of energy into coming up with even more ways for people to have fun, from the monthly theme party to the new Wednesday movie night on the patio with free popcorn. I went here based on the martini reviews, and they really do have the best ones in town! So many to choose from, but if you tell the bartender what you like- they’ll know the perfect martini for you. The place was quite small, but great if your going out with your spouse or girlfriends to relax and chat. I really liked this place, the only thing that creeped me out were the guys that were there- just didn’t feel very safe… Overall I’d go back with a group or my husband…Pros + Best Martinis I’ve ever had, cute & cozy placeCons – hard parking, tiny, not safe young women

The food is great. Period. The service was bungling a bit, drinks a little slow, wrong salads, wrong drinks. All taken care of pretty quick. Only reason I mention it was because it was so many times. Our table was near the kitchen and so we were nearly shouting to be heard a couple of times. The restaurant was very busy so I attribute it to that. An affable waiter that was a bit distracted. In spite of that he did his job and we did tip in the 20% range.First time there and was impressed with the taste and quantity of our food choices.Would recommend to anybody.Pros + Great food!Cons – Loud atmosphere, hard to talk
