Where are the Best Bartenders in Houston, Texas?
I went to a wedding reception at Slainte’s several months back & had a great time. Was very surprised to read so many reviews about them having such terribly rude staff. My experience there was nothing the like. Food was good. Music was outstanding. The outside balcony upstairs has an absolutely fantastic view. The decorum was clean & authentic. Nice art work. Close parking was available. Enjoyed it very much.
With an edgy, yet upscale underground vibe, Gravitas reminds me of one of my favorite Tom Douglas restaurants in Seattle: cool, warehouse, hip. The exposed brick and the large chalkboard serve as a backdrop to a warm eating scene. Good looking twenties to forties-somethings imbibing on cocktails or wine, enjoying the delicious creations of Chef Tycer. As with any restaurant boasting a renowned Chef, the food quality increases exponentially when the Chef is in the house. Under the guidance of said Chef, a dish as simple as caesar salad becomes a sensory adventure and an exercise in true culinary artistry. One large romaine leaf, seasoned to perfection, perfectly crisped and fresh, with just the right amount of dressing and fresh parmesan sent my senses reeling on the first bite. The gnocchi, a simple dish with portabello and tomato, and one of the best bargains on the menu, sets an example for all wanna-be italian restaurants in Houston – do it right and the results will be astonishi
This is a good old fashioned type bar – what a bar was meant to be. A nice quiet non meat market spot to relax, let your guard down and sip a nice adult beverage. When busy service can be slow but a little patience goes a long way. Jukebox is great, pizzas are simple but good -cures the munchies. I would much rather relax here than go grind it up the street for higher priced drinks. I am with miguelUT, people like Htowngirl should stay away – we like it that way!Pros + Laid back, large bar, great jukebox, good little pizzasCons – Sometimes service can be touch and go
I have been here several times and it is always a great place to enjoy lunch or come in on friday nights for karaoke. It was definitely not what I was expecting when I first walked in. The atmosphere is very welcoming and they have great drinks too! I am an avid karaoke fan so this place is great if you love karaoke. It does get somewhat packed so get there early if you want to sing! The people there are great and everyone always has a great time. Pros + atmosphere
I went on the Wednesday night after Valentine’s Day, as a challenge to myself. Unfortunately, I am way more square than I thought I would be at this point. I couldn’t make myself look at any of the half-naked men for more than a few seconds at a time, so thank goodness my friend was there to distract me, or I would have been staring at my shoes. That said, I still had a really good time. The gentlemen are friendly and come up to talk to you. When you tip them, they play along with whatever your comfort level seems to be — anywhere from a hug or something more sensuous all the way to pulling your hair, stealing your bra, spanking you, and slinging you over their shoulder. It’s very much a playground environment, with men swinging from ropes, doing wall dances with blushing patrons, and my friend got introduced to a few new aerial maneuvers! They make a show out of it, playing awesome music you wouldn’t expect, like Metallica and the theme from “Lost Boys.” Everyone had a costume or
