Where are the Best Bartenders in Chicago, Illinois?
Good drinks, beer. Good folks. I always hear some cool music I’ve never heard before (never too loud–maybe its louder weekend nights?). Conversation at the bar is always lively. Just jump right in. This is my favorite bar in Bucktown and my favorite afternoon and weeknight spot. A dying breed for sure but the great people at Lemmings proudly carry the torch.
What makes this place a standout is the personality of the staff and the place. Rossi’s has been around forever, and the place does a great job making you feel like you can kick back when many of the other restaurants/bars in downtown Chicago don’t. Obviously, its not the place you’d want to go to if you’re out with a date, but it is a great little nook with character and history, and a great place to toss back a beer while checking out city lights. Pros + Personality, personality, kicked back atmosphereCons – all the waaay downtown for us andersonvillers 😉
This is my first review as I usually do not write these, but I have been to Justin’s a few times and live in the neighborhood. I really like the bar, beer garden, and I have always had great food, but the one thing I do not like is the lack of weekly drink specials. I understand no specials on the weekends, but I like to go places during the week that have some sort of drink deal. I am a student and tend to frequent places that have at least a decent special and it seems that everytime I have been there, they do not offer anything but the obscure beer of the month. When it comes down to it, if I want to go out on a Monday, I usually try to go somewhere that is not going to cost me my very small paycheck. Especially since there are a ton of bars in the same area that offer great deals during the week. Pros + good foodCons – no drink specials
For my money this is simply THE BEST ROCK&ROLL BAR IN THE WORLD, and I come from a city that’s famous for having the best ones (Madrid, Spain). If you are into ROCK&ROLL (being it punk, classic rock, garage, ska, etc.) this is a must. They might have the best punk-garage-rock&roll jukebox in the planet, and different DJs who change every day. Apart from the music they always have a special beer for very cheap, and they do all kinds of parties, cool movie screenings etc. Oh, yeah they have hundreds of diff beers and whiskeys and bourbons on the shelf. The staff is unbeatable too and owner is really a JEFE. This is, for me, THE BEST RAWKANDFCKNGROLL BAR ON EARTH!!Pros + Great DJs, unbeatable jukebox, nice prices, fab staffCons – Sometimes too crowded
Tucked away in the Seneca Hotel behind the Hancock Building is one of Chicago’s very best, if not the best, steakhouses of the city. This place has such appeal, especially to someone enjoys going out to eat someplace with character, class, and a real old school appeal. It’s a dimly lit, cozy restaurant with a bar as you walk in, where people enjoy a cocktail or a smoke before or after their meals. The walls are adorned with sports and chicago chotzkies, that make you feel like you’re in the heart of the city. The service is wonderful, much like that of Gibson’s or the Chop House, but the place never gets that crowded, so you feel like you get the full attention of the staff. The best part about The Saloon is the food. The steak’s are out of this world, and cooked extremely careful. The wine selection is fantastic, the salads, even the bread, and even the seafood if you don’t like steaks. There’s enough substance to the Saloon to make it more than a steakhouse, you have plenty o
