Where are the Best Bartenders in Chicago, Illinois?

Next week is going to suck! See, this week I really spoiled myself with two excellent prix fixe dinners. A few days after popping my Restaurant Week cherry, I ventured to Kinzie Chophouse to dine with some Yelp girlfriends. Kinzie is featuring their Winter Delights prix fixe special, which runs until March 19th. $20 gets you a choice of 2 salads, a choice of 4 entrees and a choice of 3 desserts. For my meal I went with the Chophouse salad, herb-crusted salmon, and chocolate cake. The salad was fine, a simple mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing. My entree was a generous serving of salmon over mustard sauce with a side of broccoli. The salmon was well prepared; it was both flavorful and moist. My only complaint about my entree is that I wish the mustard sauce had more kick, I found it to err on the bland side. To cap off my meal I went with the chocolate cake, it was so good! The cake was warm, with a soft, gooey center and chocolate sauce drizzled over the top. My plate was garni

I just moved to Chicago’s Lakeview area from DC. On my first trip to Chicago in winter 2004, my best friend took me to Jackie’s and I loved it! Having lived in DC for so long I wasn’t used to people being so outgoing, genuinely friendly and not self-absorbed. Within 5 mins we struck up a conversation with a fellow bar-goer, the bartender and a person sitting next to us. The next time I visited (many months later) the bartender remembered me, that I was from DC and what I drank! I have gone back every time I have visited until I moved there this month (July ’06) and each time I always felt at home! Everyone is sooooo nice and open to a conversation about anything and all things deep or trivial. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jacqueline’s and can’t wait until I can unwind after my move for some downtime at the bar! Thank you, Jackie and Chicago for making me and my roommate feel as at home as we do in our hometown!Pros + Great, friendly locals and bartenders, convenient locationCons –

I have had many a meal and many a cocktail here back in my “important downtown businessman” days. It’s a great spot for a decent filet or sirloin steak.  But now I like to belly up to the bar every once in awhile, as I did on Mother’s Day, and have a martini, and perhaps a lite bite. Where the heck else can you end up sitting next to a some steel magnate, who has two Rolls-Royce vehicles and a Bentley (the latter which he has shipped out by train when he is on the west coast,) a bartender who tells you this stuff, and who  can regale you with those long and politically incorrect jokes which go on for days before the punch line? In such a milieu, and where I know that no-one will remember me from one visit to the next, I like to pretend to talk sports-something I am totally ignorant about, but I just repeat what I hear other guys say. Such as, “boy, there were some really bad calls last night!” And the other guys just take that and run with it,. I find that most of them don’t really lis

Went in this place on a whim during the middle of the day on a random Sunday. The place is actually fairly neat and clean inside compared to how it looks from the outside. The girls working were pretty cute and really down to earth. I drank there for a few hours and ate. The food was better than average for bar food. I will go back. Nicer place than I expected.

Went there with a friend a couple months ago, we passed be the place once and I thought nothing of it. I thought back to the place that once stood there but didn’t remember the name from the 1980’s and thought nah, we headed for another bar and it was horrible there. I remembered that MINIBAR said they were NON smoking. Well we entered MINIBAR and I was like this place is small, but around the back corner there was alot of sitting room. The bar is very clean and the bathrooms are upscale to say the least. I was impressed to see modern european fixtures and the decor in the entire place was so cool you just don’t want to leave. Oh The Chocolate Martinis are wonderful and we had a few. I really have to say that I had a wonderful time and it’s on my list of favorite places to go while in Boystown. I even asked where to find the plans for the decor, I would like to do a (mini) version of that at home. YOU NEED TO STOP BYE THIS PLACE. you will have a wonderful time. The staff are very profe
