The last reviewer who called it “Dorkin’s” is obviously a disgruntled patron who got shut down trying to hookup, which is sad…if you try and fail to meet somebody at Durkin’s on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday night, you have absolutely no game and should be upset. This place has gone from being a quiet hole-in-the-wall to being one of the liveliest bars in the neighborhood in the past couple of years, though the interior has not really changed. The crowd is an odd mix of laid-back locals just out for a beer and the trendy-set. There’s no gimmick here…it’s just a bar with a *very* mild sports theme. Similar to Duffy’s, but has a more crowd-friendly layout and lacks the air of pretension. However, it lacks the unique atmosphere of a bar such as alive One (right down the street).Pros + laid back, good starting point, hot waitressesCons – not too unique, can get too crowded

I went here for dinner because it was convenient to my location, was suggested to be reasonably priced, and had outdoor seating. They also accepted opentable.com reservations. The wine selection was good, and even wines by the glass were good. My friend said his meal was delicious, as was the amuse, but my “Kobe” beef was simply fatty beef. Also, the “reasonably priced” part was a joke. This site says average $15-25/entree. The cheapest thing was $22, and most were $28+. 2 entrees and 4 glasses of wine = $100+ before tip! The quality of food (at least mine) did not demand this price. Also, we were late (but called), and were the only ones in the place. The reataurant marked us as late, reducing my opentable points. Outdoor seating is nice, and the chef obviously has the ability, but the cost suggests you wait until they figure it out.

I’ve stayed at the W and have been there for parties many, many times for work and social. I feel like they are really consistent with their service (overall), but I feel like they hire the best looking people too. Is it just me? My girlfriends and I are obsessed with this one bartender that works there. Also, I think it’s a great place to network professionally in the city. I’ve been in about 4 of their suites and they are nice, but I’ve been in nicer. Overall, I would recommend this place.

This place is beautiful from the outside, but some of the rooms are quite dated. The location at the north end of Michigan Ave, with the lakefront path and Oak Street beach steps away, is perfect. Pros + Can’t beat the localeCons – It’s old

Wow. My husband and I went here for dinner last night because his parents had given us a gift card for his birthday a few months ago. The only other time I’ve been to Captial Grille was in Boston over 7 years ago. Dear God, why have I waited so long to return?? Perhaps it’s because I didn’t remember it being quite this good. For starters let me say that the food was phenomenal, the service fantastic, and the ambiance spot on.We decided to begin dinner with a dirty martini (me) and a Sam winter (hubby). My martini was great, and arrived with either a choice of either regular or Blue cheese stuffed olives to complement my martini. Blue cheese please! My husband was jealous and kept stealing sips and eventually an olive.  I haven’t decided if I’ve forgiven him for that yet…Then, after looking at the sizes of the steaks, we decided we would be plenty full by splitting one along with a few sides. Our waiter agreed (surprise, he didn’t try to pressure us into adding an additional $40 to the
