Reston residents have commented that they have observed barred owls within Reach 5 of the Glade and expressed concern over the potential impact of the stream restoration in Reach 5 on the nesting sites. We are happy to report that WSSI and RA staff located three barred owl nesting trees within Reach 5 of The Glade. The sites are not near the stream or on RA property; therefore, the proposed stream restoration plans will not impact the barred owl nesting sites.
