In the Main Library, most back issues of journals are located in the Serials section on the relevant subject floor (Level 1, 2, 4 or 5), while some may be in the Store. They are in number order on the shelves, according to subject. Journal shelf numbers are simply a number, unlike those for books which usually have a ‘D’ in front and letters after them. To locate a journal: • Search the Voyager Library Catalogue – perform a ‘Journal title browse’ search for the exact journal title. If the Library stocks the journal, its catalogue record will tell you what years are held in print, the section they are in (‘Serial’ or ‘Serial Store’), and the shelf number position in that section. • Go to the shelf – to find the relevant floor for the shelf/subject number, either click on the hyperlinked word ‘Location’ on the catalogue record to see the Catalogue Locations web page, or refer to the guide boards in the Library stairwells.
